I often wonder why these street media outlets keep seeking opinions from people of immigrant origin. How could they truly understand the complexities of Manipur? If I were to start discussing Gujarat's and Punjab's welfare and our rights while living in those regions, would this same cheap media extend the same level of importance to my views? It seems that a once vocal professor is now resorting to collaborating with local, ungrounded reel makers to push their agenda. How cheap and low can they sink? Did he even understand what the "Idea of Manipur" is truly meant to be?

While the fact remains that Kukis were refugees as revealed by several records, the disturbing trend that continues to crop up is that they were deliberately being settled into Manipur by the previous government in continuation of the British policies.

What is the agenda behind bringing in these outsiders into the country only to destabilize the region and fuel unrest by threatening the demography and natural resources?

The Nehruvian Government then started issuing missionary visas that paved the way for the Christian missionaries to arrive into the Northeast states and convert almost entire populations. Suffice to say, the crisis we are witnessing today in Manipur resulted out of years of Congress government's actions.

Abhijit Chavda, while revealing these facts, also underscores the issues being exacerbated by the Indian media which is amplifying the false narratives that these illegal immigrants are indigenous to Manipur.
