@chettpritchett @therealIRD @mxbarclay @nate_nims What better way to cover up all the children and teachers who are going to get sick, because of the forced school openings this week, than to open everything up at the same time. This way it’s everyone else’s “fault” instead of failed leadership.
@CaraGilger We have been wanting to do this for a while. This pandemic was the nudge to get us in gear. I’m hoping that means when we are back in person, we will have a better sense on how to make the digital experience even more engaging then if we never had this time.
@ShaneIsner So helpful. It so speaks to the “pray for a miracle or healing.” And if it doesn’t come, then failure or blame must be attributed; which most often falls upon the one already hurting.
If we look at all of the judges that have come through McConnell, 95% of the time they vote for corporations over ppl, for health insurance companies & against healthcare for the ppl, for polluters & against labor unions. We can't allow him to force a Supreme Court nomination!
“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.” – Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in her final moments before passing. We must honor that wish and fight for her legacy.
How do you mourn the loss of a great champion for justice like Ruth Bader Ginsburg? You mourn deeply & you vow to continue her work with even greater resolve. Her death must bring us to life.
To my white friends & neighbors: “One recent poll of WI voters found that approval for #BlackLivesMatter protests dropped from 61% in June to 48% in August, & all of the change came from whites.” We can't abide fair-weather, fickle friends. Our lives must matter more than this.
On days they play and I can focus for a full 5 minutes, I think, ok. I can do this. But friends, do not blinded by their cooperative cuteness. This. Is. Hard. Parents and families are slapping every aspect of life… https://t.co/rR8nQqLW3u
Tomorrow, 168 years after Frederick Douglass’s famous speech “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” I'll be preaching (online) from my home church pulpit, “What to the Freedom & Justice Movements of Today Is the Fourth of July?” Join us: https://t.co/lMgTwuUfjZ
God has called you to a free life. Just make sure you don't use that freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that's how freedom grows. - Galatians 5:13-14.
10 days since Governor Reynolds pledged to sign an executive order restoring voting rights for Iowans
120 days to request an absentee ballot in Iowa
131 days until the election
We can’t wait for action. Pass it on.
Thank you @DMRegister for your accrurate reporting on @DMPolice’s attacking and kettling of non-violent BLM protestors last night.

Let’s remember our history: It was black & white coalitions that caused abolition, the women’s suffrage movement, the labor movement & the civil rights movement. We’ve not seen it on social media before, but transformation in this country has always been multiracial.
