@callaway_es @valor_nash@MLS@SacRepublicFC We forced MLS' hand through community support, patience, and getting our shit together. Let's see you guys do that (your stadium is still not worked out). I'm sure you guys will get in in time because of market size alone but don't be such a jerk about it.
@CarmichaelDave Agreed. What I've seen happen with other expansions is that the organization itself announces a rally / event, often with very very short notice, to make an announcement about "the future of soccer in [insert market here]" or something like that.
@mikecarratx@AntwonGelato @ElFuturoEsMetro @soccer_rabbi@MLS@AustinFC The only reason MLS went to Austin is because Precourt put it in contract when he bought the Crew, when the league was struggling, that he had the option to. They couldn't say no or he could sue them.
@CZ_ThaDay@Danielsactown@MLS Precourt had a clause in his contract with MLS to be able to move the Crew to Austin. Which is what he wanted to do, but it caused too much bad PR so the league let him get an "expansion team" in Austin instead to make the problem go away. Deep pockets had nothing to do with it
