Amid the devastation of Monday’s fire at the Pearnel Charles Arcade in downtown Kingston, vendors were left amazed when they recovered a Bible that remained completely unharmed. https://t.co/urYgM8xhiv
@myJPSonline why is it that all areas around fisher road in Mandeville have light except fisher road which has no down lines? Please resolve this low hanging fruit.
We understand your frustration, and we hear you! Sometimes the problem isn't on your road but with the source or the lines leading to you. Rest assured, we are working tirelessly to get your power back safely and as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding
@guruintraining_ It’s only one month with the possibility of getting a full time job afterwards and they receive a full meal until the end. It’s the cost of getting on the job experience.
@guruintraining_ Also on the job training sometimes cost the employer more than what the trainee receives. Although someone is “working” the employer has to train them and provide supervision which ties up resources from doing other things, so them not getting paid shouldn’t be an issue.
@guruintraining_ There is nothing wrong with the letter it is clearly an unpaid internship and the least the employer will do is to provide food for when they are there. There are interns that are not getting anything at all for the on the job training.
At a Credit Union and outside of feeling that their operations is chaotic and the customer facing members are not customer centric… I see the supervisor on Amazon looking at items…I’m concerned…
@RichardPandohie@seprodgroup The disconnect is between industry experience and what is taught in schools. Universities/Colleges either have to have industry experts collaborate or collab. with private sector organizations.
@HalsallDoug The Prime Minister had announced that 15% of procurements should be allotted to SMes locally but all procurement is not handled by one body so each entity does their own thing and less that 15% is allocated because of silos.@AndrewHolnessJM@NigelClarkeJa
I was with a representative of PWC & a Junior Minister of Govt, in Hyderabad, India, last year.
Their Minister of Technology opined that if you wish to build a local IT industry, you should award all Enterprise Systems to local companies.
This should be a policy of our government.
