Law-abiding citizens are now expected to run their own surveillance networks because policing in many communities has become too lazy to do the job on the ground.
Good community policing dies when departments outsource it to camera systems like Flock. Real cops should be the loudest voices against this — a surveillance state destroys the trust and cooperation that actual law enforcement depends on.
