Don't be a Statistic. Have a PFD for all on board. Have a way of calling for help (radio/phone/flares). If traveling alone, tell someone where your going and when your returning. #safeboating#comehomealive
Our 2018 annual marine statistics are available here https://t.co/PYVsIM0Ie7 In 2018, 282 marine accidents reported to #TSBMarine, just above the 2017 total of 279, but below the 10-year average of 307 #data
What better way to spend a vacation than visiting another member of the #SARFamily. One of members is out west and had a chance for a visit with @RCM_SAR@RCMSAR02

That's not good #NorthVan, we must do better. Of 61 boats checked, 15 were turned away because they did not have the proper safety equipment. One boater with his kids did not have any Lifejackets. #Boatingsafety#safeboating#rcmsar
This past weekend’s ICBC/RCMP "Project Wave" event revealed a need for improvement among some recreational boaters in #NorthVan. https://t.co/BmviGZOf1C

What a perfect #NorthVan summer day! Chief Bayani, Inspector LeClair and members are out on the water, reminding folks that drinking and boating does not mix. Be safe out there today and every day! #ProjectWave#GetHomeSafe
We have been out at local boat launches & waterways, reminding boaters to enjoy the water responsibly! Impaired boating - like impaired driving - is prohibited by the Crim Code of Canada & carries significant penalties.
Thanks @roadsafetykath for these cool floating keychains!

Crews were out training on Saturday when they overheard a MAYDAY call for a vessel that had sank. They were very close and able to pull 1 person out of the water. #bcsar#rcmsar@VicJRCC_CCCOS

Last night we were dispatched to a dock fire in Belcarra. When our crews arrived bystanders had knocked down the worst of the fire. Our crews stayed on scene to extinguish the fire. A reminder to be extremely cautious and dispose of smoking materials responsibly.
