Nelson Mandela visited the Shati refugee camp in Gaza in 1999. This is what he said:
"Choose peace rather than confrontation. Except in cases where we cannot get, where we cannot proceed, or we cannot move forward. Then if the only alternative is violence, we will use violence."
@zainab_c@bradfordmdc Truth of the matter is there is no concern for these areas because of the demographic of the community that live here. I've drove down one of the more affluent areas of Bradford and it's a completely different picture. Truth is BD7/BD8 just don't matter.
@zainab_c@bradfordmdc@bradfordmdc These areas in BD7 have always been neglected. Spencer Road, Farnham Road, Beckside Road and the areas around the schools is and always has been an absolute dump. I've lived on Spencer Road for over 20 years and the visits from road sweepers are few and far between.
@zainab_c@bradfordmdc It’s more than that. There’s absolute no funding in this area for anything. Lamp post don’t work for months, rats and mice running with the kids in the field, which is filled with litter. No cctv to see who starts arson, no traps from rats. Nothing. @bradfordmdc@ShakeelaLaal
@bradfordmdc@zainab_c What is the point of just sending out links to report for different thing when nothing actually gets done? we have reported all this before and no one actually comes out to do anything. This isn't a one man job even if you did want to sort it
