@FrannieBlock asks: Are American teachers’ unions really just political machines?
A new report out today accuses both the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association of spending tens of millions of dollars on electing Democratic political candidates, and prioritizing politicking over the needs of their union members.
The report found that of the NEA’s $450 million annual disbursement budget from fiscal year 2025, less than $46 million, or 10 percent, was spent on activities directly representing the union’s constituents.
“You read a stat like that,” said Tova Plaut, a New York City teacher and a member of both the NEA and AFT, “and you start to wonder, Where is all that money going?”

"Modern schooling is systematically terrible at forming well-adjusted, curious, intellectually creative, entrepreneurial adults.

Here's the truth: Nobody loves your kids as much as you do."

I can remember as a child during the hours from Noon to 3 PM on Good Friday, there would be an aura of silence, reverence, and penance. Even if we are not able to get to the sacred liturgy at that time, we still try to keep some awe during the “Tre Ore,” those three hours. @thegnewsroom
Everything is bigger in Texas, now including education freedom! Nearly 275k students will benefit from choosing a new learning option that used to be out of reach for them and their families.
.@EDSecMcMahon on the Education Freedom Tax Credit: This absolutely is a win-win. Private citizens can donate money into these scholarship-granting organizations, which can then award scholarships to parents who want to move their child out of failing schools.
.@POTUS’ Education Freedom Tax Credit is a pathway to opportunities for Michigan families who want the best education for their children, regardless of their ZIP code.
Every child in Michigan deserves education that fits their unique needs—regardless of their zip code.
It’s time to put students first and expand opportunity.
@GovWhitmer, let’s empower families by opting in to the Education Freedom Tax Credit!
Michiganders have a unique opportunity to access education freedom, but Gov. Whitmer refuses to act!
@RepWalberg and I are calling on her to support @POTUS' Education Freedom Tax Credit, and give MI parents the power to choose the best educational options for their children!
