@antoin @re_dubhthaigh @emmetatquiddity Geographical proximity of the market to the bakery/apiary/veg farm/etc. Close enough that they can reasonably drive their own van there and back the same day without relying on anyone else for logistics.

@re_dubhthaigh @emmetatquiddity Must be tough in urban areas, but local producers markets can survive by selling cheaper or competitively with supermarkets (cutting the middle men out can do that), and by a critical mass of fresh produce so it takes shoppers 1 trip..

You need real local production, though?

Author reputation is arguably a *good* metric for evaluating quality-at-a-glance. But "at-a-glance" is a bad idea, I think we can all agree?
