For those that won't take the time to watch Mamdani's speech, just know he also took a direct shot at Elon:
"We see a city of contradictions within a nation of contradictions. We see the wealthiest country in the history of the world, one where children go to sleep hungry while the world's first trillionaire hungers for more."
This is clearly designed to get people to dislike Elon and think he's bad for America which is the height of stupidity. Life is NOT a zero-sum game. Elon's wealth creation (mostly tied up in his companies, btw) is in NO WAY the reason we have pockets of food insecurity or wealth inequality
Elon has directly and indirectly created industries that have provided for millions of families and raised living standards for many more. Elon's "hunger for more" is actually more ambition directed at solving hard technical problems to make our world a better, safer place and to make life multiplanetary to preserve the light of consciousness, creating millions of jobs through multiple tiers of the supply chains
America was built by capitalist institutions and incentives - credible property rights, low barriers to productive activity, reliable contract enforcement and a culture that supports achievement through voluntary means
I'd also add that the US already redistributes enormous resources and despite this, food insecurity rates have not gone to zero
Mamdani is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Elon said it best, if Mamdani's policies are put into place at scale, it will be a catastrophic decline in living standards for everyone
@DirtyTesLa Incorporate local learning. I drive the same streets every day and the car acts like it's its first time ever seeing a lane end. If today the car learns that the lane ends, tomorrow it could avoid making last minute merges, as an example.

Senator John Kennedy on Elon Musk and DOGE exposing USAID, “I'll tell you what Mr. Musk discovered. I find it fascinating. He discovered:
- The American taxpayers are giving money to Afghanistan
- He found that we are giving money to Yemen
- He found that we are giving money to Syria
- He found that the USAID has 10,000 people employees, and every year they give away $40 billion
- He found that the USAID gave money to support electric vehicles in Vietnam. Our money, taxpayer money
- He found that the USAID gave money to a transgender clinic in India. “I didn't know that. I bet you the American people didn't know that”
- He found that USAID gave $1.5 million to a Serbian LGBTQ group, they got $1.5 million to QUOTE, “advanced diversity, equity, inclusion in Serbia's workplaces and business communities”
- They found that USAID spent $164 million to support radical organizations around the world
- They gave $122 million of that to groups aligned with foreign terrorist organizations
- According to this report in Mr. Musk, the USAID has given millions of dollars to quote organizations in Gaza controlled by Hamas
- He found that we gave $2 million, USAID did, for sex changes in Guatemala
- He found that we gave $20 million to produce a new Sesame Street show in Iraq
- He found that we gave $4.5 million of taxpayer money to combat misinformation in Kazakhstan
- He found that we gave $10 million, USAID did, of meals to an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group called the Nusra Front
- Mr. Musk found that we gave $7.9 million of taxpayer money to a project that would teach Sri Lankan journalists to avoid binary gendered language. (The USAID took 8 million bucks and gave it to a bunch of journalists in Sri Lanka to teach them how to avoid binary gendered language)
- USAID gave $1.5 million to promote LGBT advocacy in Jamaica
- They gave $1.5 million to rebuild the Cuban media ecosystem
- They gave $1.5 million for quote, art for inclusion of people with disabilities in Belarus
- Another $3.9 million for LGBT causes in Macedonia
- $8.3 million for equity and inclusion education in Nepal
“I could go all night and many of my colleagues are upset. They're really mad at Mr. Musk. Hell, I think we ought to give him a medal”
Elon Musk has; read a bill proposed by the congress, discussed the things he finds objectionable on a public forum, ask others to contact their representatives if they agree, and make clear he will help primary republicans that vote for the bill.
this is how representative government is intended to work. this is government for the people, by the people, and of the people.
anyone that objects to Musks activism is only objecting to his effectiveness.
For years, we've seen Elon Musk disrupt various industries and make a significant positive impact on the world. Now, he's about to apply that same disruptive, hyper efficient approach to the U.S. government with the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E).
It’s going to be chaotic, and many, especially the legacy media, will criticize the changes and try to convince you what they are doing is wrong. But when the dust settles, I believe we'll see an efficient, sustainable government as a result.
Don’t bet against Elon.
As an American, I’m excited to see what they accomplish. Buckle up y’all!
Biden’s comments were pretty crazy if you think about it.
We have an issue with people from all over the world walking into our country, and he thinks the real issue here is that Elon Musk, decades ago, started a company on a student visa
Random people should not be allowed to just walk in without vetting. And working is not a crime… we should celebrate those who start multiple billion dollar startups.
Not twist ourselves like contortionists to claim that working hard was actually not legal. What kind of a country of dumbfucks are we?
If the massive wealth creation Musk has spearheaded is illegal CHANGE THE DAMN LAW.
Musk’s focus on immigration isn’t just about stopping illegal migration. It’s about reforming the legal immigration system too. It makes no sense that random people are allowed to come in while brilliant people have to deal with a Kafkaesque nightmare to come
to this county.
For years, @FEMA has bragged about giving billions of dollars to migrants
Now the Homeland Security secretary said that FEMA has insufficient funds to last through hurricane season
Oh and that whopping $750 for the hurricane victims? You have to apply and qualify for it
Even worse, people that are trying to help are being forced to apply for permits...TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE. If needing a permit to save a life isn't a sign of government overreach, I'm not sure what is
Even worse, FEMA is actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services claiming them as their own. Why? If donations are not from companies on a "preferred vendor list" they won't accept them or give them to those impacted. The preferred vendors get part of the money being handed out by the government and in return they give kickbacks
Not to mention all of the illegal immigrants across the country that are getting free rent, free food and free insurance - people that are not even working and are not supposed to be here in the first place!
Our government is so mismanaged and backwards right now it makes me sick
The WSJ is reporting that after Biden’s inauguration, Tesla officials reached out to the White House multiple times hoping to connect Biden and @elonmusk. Elon repeatedly got the cold shoulder. The reason: Biden officials didn't want to anger the UAW union, which leaned on the White House to keep its distance from Musk, according to the WSJ.
Then in August 2021, Biden organized an EV event, to be anchored by him signing an executive order with a target to make half of all new vehicles sold in 2030 zero-emissions vehicles. Just ahead of the event, White House officials called @Tesla with an apology: Elon wasn't invited.
At the time, Tesla sold ~66% of all EVs in the U.S.
Instead Biden welcomed executives from three other car companies-GM, Ford and Chrysler parent Stellantis.
"We made it clear to the administration about where things were," a former union official said. "We didn't have to make an ultimatum. They understood."
Things only got worse from there. "In the auto industry, Detroit's leading the world in electric vehicles," Biden said at a November 2021 event while promoting the new
infrastructure bill. He then turned to GM's Mary Barra and praised the CEO. "You electrified the entire automobile industry. I'm serious. You led, and it matters,” Biden said.

We knew most of these details that are in the story, and the story goes on about other reasons Elon broke from the Dems, but Elon had every right to be pissed at Biden after that. The previous two UAW Presidents went to jail for corruption, and the current one is being investigated for corruption. In 2021, there was only one clear leader in EVs, and that was Tesla. Shameful not to include a great American company, one ran by the greatest entrepreneur of our lifetime, and one that has helped create and support hundreds of thousands of jobs in the U.S.
@the_transit_guy@ThyssenK@zebulgar This seems to be your real reason for opposing Elons companies. My guess is if the CEO of Lockheed said he supported Biden, you wouldn't have posted your comment.
@the_transit_guy@zebulgar Perhaps the inverse question is more interesting. Does it make sense for the gov to spend tax payer money on EV and Internet that is a multiple the cost of Tesla/starling?
@MercilessTrader@JohnMil74364944@daltonbrewer Ok you took me literally. I am aware he didn't start Tesla, he just made Tesla what is is today. You have zero sense of reality if you think Eberhard or Tarpenning would have had any chance of making Tesla more than a novelty.
@MercilessTrader@daltonbrewer Both are great leaders. Just studying Musk for the last 20 years, Tesla started when no other car manufacturer would even consider trying. Tesla and Ford are the only 2 auto companies to not receive a major bailout to survive.
@SRamirezmma31 @QPsyOps @iamnot_elon Are you replying to this thread from an iPhone? Because Apple just recalled its entire car division, for a mere 10 billion dollar loss.
