🚨 Dumping your bank statements and files on KRA to fight a tax bill is not a defence. The High Court says you must hand over a clear, indexed reconciliation that explains your numbers, or you lose. One business just learned this the hard way, to the tune of Sh29.2 million.

🚨Filing a few minutes too late can cost you your entire case. A State corporation filed its appeal on time. Its lawyers lodged the record before 5 pm on the final day. At 6:01 pm, after office hours, the court registry rejected it over missing documents. That one rejection, on that one evening, ended the entire case.

The @BOU_Official has issued a land mark regulatory directive capping over-the-counter (OTC) cash withdrawals of UGX 50millions per day for individuals and UGX 500millions per day for corporate accounts, effective January 1, 2027.

As @MuhindoSim65920 observes, "the move represents a coercive regulatory shift from encouragement to structural compulsion." While the Bank of Uganda relies on its powers under the Bank of Uganda Act, the Financial Institutions Act, and the National Payment Systems Act to modernize the country's payment system, the directive raises important legal questions about property rights, freedom of contract, the legal tender status of the Uganda Shilling, and the extent of the Central Bank's regulatory authority.

Esta madrugada ha muerto Franco Baresi. Tenía 66 años y llevaba meses luchando en silencio, como había hecho toda su vida.

Nació en Travagliato, en la provincia de Brescia, hijo de campesinos. A los doce años perdió a su madre. A los diecisiete ya entrenaba con el primer equipo del Milan. Lo llamaban "Piscinin", el pequeño en milanés, porque era el más joven de todos. Nadie imaginaba que ese chico menudo iba a convertirse en el mejor defensa de la historia del club y uno de los mejores que ha dado el fútbol.

Jugó 716 partidos con la camiseta rossonera. No se fue nunca. Cuando el Milan bajó a Segunda División en 1980 por un escándalo de amaño de partidos, Baresi se quedó. Pudo marcharse. No lo hizo. Eso definió quién era antes de que ningún trofeo lo definiera.

Lo que vino después es historia que los aficionados al fútbol llevan décadas recitando de memoria: seis Scudetti, tres Copas de Europa, dos Copas Intercontinentales. El Mundial con Italia en 1982. El subcampeonato del mundo en 1994, cuando falló el penalti decisivo en la final contra Brasil siendo capitán, después de haber jugado el torneo con una rodilla operada hacía tres semanas. La imagen de Baresi mirando al suelo después de aquel penalti es una de las más honestas que ha dejado el fútbol: la de un hombre que lo dio todo y aun así no fue suficiente.

Cuando se retiró en 1997, el Milan retiró el dorsal 6 para siempre. Pelé lo incluyó en su lista de los 125 mejores futbolistas vivos. En enero de 2026, en la ceremonia de apertura de los Juegos Olímpicos de Milán-Cortina, Baresi y Beppe Bergomi portaron juntos la antorcha olímpica en San Siro mientras Andrea Bocelli cantaba "Nessun dorma". Fue su última gran aparición pública.

Esta mañana el Milan ha escrito: "Hemos perdido un latido de nuestro corazón."
