Families here are not “used to” this life. HELP: https://t.co/6l9JFjXgdv Before, they had homes, routines, and jobs - they were under occupation, constant threat - bust daily, there was a sense of stability.
Today, everything has changed, and nothing is certain anymore, not even where the next meal will come from.
On April 20, Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project carried out a shawarma distribution preparing and giving out a total of 895 sandwiches. Of these, 750 meals were delivered to Al-Aidoun Camp, while 145 meals were given to bakery workers, camp workers, bus drivers, and others in the surrounding area.
Each meal cost 7.22 shekels, bringing the total cost, after 11% commission, to $2,402.
Gaza should not be “used to” hardship; Palestinians are enduring unimaginable uncertainty and doing their best to survive through it.

A routine morning update during the “ceasefire”: At least 6 Palestinians have been killed and 26 others injured, including two fishermen off Gaza’s coast, as Israeli attacks continue by air, land and sea.
A British national who served in the Israeli army posed in front of a burning school in Gaza, potentially placing him at the scene of a war crime.
Why is the British government ignoring this?

This is mental.
It is completely and utterly mental.
This should literally be illegal.
It is not unreasonable to ban politicians from being broadcast journalists FFS
He says the name just fine when he’s begging the Qataris for a personal jet or the Saudis for funding for his son-in-law’s private equity firm.
Wonder what’s changed?
"Do you think Israel has a right to exist?"
@ZackPolanski is spot on. No state has a right to exist. Did Rhodesia? Does the UK?
And this was🎯"The status quo right now is a one state apartheid state where Palestinians do not have the same freedom as Israelis, & that's racist"
Superb answer. Politicians and journalists keep invoking the two-state solution while conveniently ignoring the fact that Israel has spent years neutralising the possibility of any state.
But addressing that would mean centring Palestinians. They’d rather cling to smokescreens.
Just been to see NAZA.
For those of you who are of the opinion that ‘it’s complicated’ you’ll find out that it isn’t. It’s Genocide. The intent is blatant.
Go see it.
In the UK right now:
Jonathan Powell must denounce his wife and hand her over to the police!
The Greens must say sorry to Israel otherwise there will be no rubbish collection in sixteen councils!
Best-selling author of stark, realist romances cannot sell books in the UK because she is a terrorist supporter!
Looks like quite a few developments coming to a head to force the issue and reveal some contradictions.
I want to share with you what happened to me moments before my daughter’s surgery.
I don’t know how to describe what I felt in those moments. I stopped thinking, and I was overwhelmed by a fear unlike anything I had ever experienced in my life. It felt as though my heart was being torn from my chest, as though I were standing helplessly before the thing I feared most in this world.
I held my daughter in my arms for the last time before she entered the operating room, and I hugged her tightly against my chest. I wished I could take all her pain away and endure everything she was about to face in her place. But in that moment, I could do nothing but hold her close and try to hide my fear from her, while my heart trembled deep inside.
When I handed her over to the doctor and saw the fear in her eyes as tears streamed down her face, I felt as though something inside me had broken. I had never seen my daughter so frightened before. It was a moment too painful for me to bear, a moment when I wished I could stop time, take her back into my arms, and tell her that she would never have to suffer again.
I have faced so much pain, fear, and suffering throughout my life. I have endured things I never imagined I would be able to bear. But I discovered that the most painful kind of suffering is watching your child suffer while being unable to protect her from everything she fears.
I cried bitterly... I cried like a father who could no longer hide his fear, like a human being exhausted by the reality of life, and like a heart that cannot bear to see a piece of itself suffering before its very eyes.
I was afraid for her in every possible way. I was afraid something might happen to her, and I feared that the harsh health conditions we live under in Gaza might fail her, where the healthcare system is suffering a severe collapse and where the resources patients need to save their lives are not always available.
My fear was not simply the fear of a surgical procedure. It was the fear of a father who knows the cruelty of the reality his family lives in, and who fears losing the most precious thing he has in a moment when he can do absolutely nothing.
In those moments, I had nothing but prayer. I turned to God with all the fear and hope in my heart, pleading with Him to protect my daughter, ease her pain and suffering that had accompanied her since birth, let her surgery pass safely, and bring her back to me safe and sound.
In that moment, I realized that a person may endure pain when they themselves are the ones suffering, but they fall apart when they see their child in pain and cannot take their place.
I realized that there is a soul I love more than my own, that her safety means the entire world to me, and that everything I wish for in this life can wait, as long as my daughter is okay.
And now, I don’t know how to describe my feelings. I feel immense joy because my daughter made it through the surgery safely, and deep sadness because I experienced those moments that I would never wish upon any father.
I am happy that I can finally feel reassured about her,and that she now needs only some time to regain her strength and recover completely. But at the same time,I think about every father and mother who have lost their child, and every family that has been forced to say goodbye to a piece of their soul forever.
How can a father continue living after losing his child? How can a mother’s heart bear the absence of a child she once held in her arms, whom she feared for even over the smallest things, only to find herself forced to live without them?
I have no answers to these questions. All I know is that when I imagined the possibility of losing my daughter, even for a moment, I felt a terror I could not bear. So how must it be for those who have experienced this loss in reality, who were never given the chance to hold their children in their arms again?
This was one of the hardest days of my life.A day that drained my soul and nerves.
I don’t know how to break it to you guys, but Tom just made his media debut on @MiddleEastEye’s The Gaza Podcast, and he absolutely nailed it!
Of course, beyond Tom, we talked about what life has been like through three years of Israel’s genocide, displacement, starvation, bombardment, what I documented, and how I managed to "survive" it all.
