Dawa Sherpa, who went missing above Camp III on Everest last week, has been found alive. He was discovered this morning near Crampon Point by a SPCC waste management team while crawling toward base camp. He was reportedly suffering from frostbite and in a weakened condition.
As Mount Everest's spring climbing season drew to a close, most climbers had already descended below the Khumbu Icefall before the route's ladders were dismantled. Yet one Sherpa guide remained unaccounted for high on the mountain.

Crossing crevasses in the Khumbu Icefall is often seen as one of Everest’s most dangerous passages. But before climbers even reach the Icefall, they must first negotiate a series of newly formed meltwater streams cutting across the route.
Junko Tabei (1939-2016) is remembered not only as the first woman to summit Mt Everest in 1975, but also as an irreplaceable lifelong friend of Nepal. She returns in a biopic at the @KIMFFnp starting 27 May.
