🚨 Belgium has officially challenged FIFA’s decision to clear Folarin Balogun.

The RBFA points to Article 66.4 of FIFA’s Disciplinary Code:

“A red card automatically results in a suspension for the team’s next match.”

They argue the rule has been consistently enforced throughout the tournament and are now considering all legal options.

FIFA's own rulebook: there is NO mechanism to appeal a red card at the World Cup. Also FIFA, 4 days later: the host nation's star striker's ban is "suspended," he'll play the Round of 16.

A rule that doesn't exist for everyone else appears out of thin air for the USA. If red cards can vanish for the right team, they mean nothing.
