Road surface temperatures are dropping below zero overnight so we will be out treating our primary route only by 7am tomorrow morning. Expected hazards #Hoarfrost, #ice with uncertainty on risk of #sleet/#snow so crews will remain on standby awaiting further instructions.

There has been a road closure on Maidstone Road, Chatham close by to the railway station due to a burst main and emergency works being carried out by Southern Water.
Diversions are in place.

Gritting crews have been working throughout the night to cover Medway’s main routes.
Although salt does not prevent snow from settling, it can help prevent ice from forming.
Our designated winter service staff are working around the clock to monitor and minimise disruption.
