Year 2 had a wonderful trip to @WakeCathedral today as part of our RE learning on Christianity. We were toured around by Gillian gaining lots of new knowledge and we even completed three different activities! We cannot wait to reflect tomorrow @re_jca
In R.E we have been learning about how people pray in different religions. We enjoyed researching Christian prayer today. Then, we compared prayer in Christianity and Islam. @re_jca ✝️
Reception have had a busy and creative day learning all about Diwali! We have created Rangoli patterns in lots of ways, painting Mendhi patterns, and written Diwali cards! @re_jca#understandingtheworld
Year 5 had a wonderful morning visiting a Hindu temple. They were full of enthusiasm and were eager to deepen their learning. The children demonstrated their fantastic knowledge throughout their activities.
In RE, Year 4 have explored what Muslims believe about Allah. We discussed the Qur’an, Shahadah and their use of Subah beads. We then used these teachings to create our own guide to life and the values we feel are important to us #JCARE
Year 4 have loved starting our new unit in @re_jca. We have looked into what is important to us. The children showed fantastic respect towards others opinions and even questioned people’s thoughts #whatisimportant
Year 4 have had an amazing experience at the Gurdwara this morning. The children were so inquisitive and showed brilliant respect towards the religion. We learned about the 5 K’s and their teachings, we were also lucky enough to try some food which the children loved 🪯@re_jca
How wonderful to see Year 4 to hear all about their brilliant learning on Sikhism! They had focussed on the life of Guru Nanak and were so proud to share their findings #JCARE
Year 3 began their new RE unit on Judaism today! They explained what they thought a rule was and created their own set of rules for a perfect world. Then they focussed on how the Jewish religion follows the Ten Commandments and explained why these are important @re_jca#RElearner
Lovely to see the Reception children showing understanding of their family in order to make connections and comparisons to other cultures and their beliefs
This week we explored Rosh Hashanah in our values assembly. We compared our own celebration of new year with the Jewish celebration and learnt about what traditions take place during Rosh Hashanah #REJCA
Today Year 5 expressed how they were extremely proud of their RE work. They learnt about an influential Christian, Mother Teresa, and how her kindness impacted society. @re_jca
Year 4 enjoyed starting their new unit in RE. We discussed what was important to them and ranked different things based on their own opinion. The children showed great respect towards each other’s views and how they would rank themselves in their list @re_jca@JCA__PSHCE
Wonderful to see the start of fantastic @re_jca RE essays using scaffolds to support their structure. The children could demonstrate excellent learning at the end of their unit in Year 1 @JcaWriting
