Shortest program ≠ best explanation. Compression is what you do after you understand. Knowledge grows by conjecture, not extrapolation,which is why you can’t schedule it.

@DavidDeutschOxf Almost every real is unnameable; the continuum is mostly things we can never point to. It edges toward "whereof one cannot speak…" Yet we speak of ℝ constantly. Is that speech empty, or does the structure carry a sense its points can't?
@kssreeram@MatjazLeonardis@DavidDeutschOxf I’m less interested in where the nameable ends than in the ocean past it. Numbers that exist but can never be named or told apart, present as a mass but absent as individuals. In a way they exist and don’t, at once.
@DavidDeutschOxf Depends what "unnameable" means. No short nam; sure, most integers too. But no finite description at all? Every integer still has its numeral; almost no real does. That break in symmetry creates a malaise for me.
