So, how do Gilette blades get blunt? Not the way most people think. They get blunt through small chips in the blade, and then the blade starts to fracture. So what causes the chips? The beard. Although beard stubbles are soft, they are hard enough to chip and fracture high-quality martensitic stainless steel—produced to be “exceptional hard and corrosion resistant.”

This is how love works that has been sanctified by the cross and the Holy Spirit. And grace. And meekness. And humility. And kindness. And goodness. Love chips into hardness, evil, hatred and unforgiveness - cuts into it, fractures it - destroys it. Meekness does the same. And humility, and kindness, and forgiveness also.
