@IEEESpectrum @marcusdcarter @benegliston Amazing article, but…
VR is already casual. Top titles are I Am Cat, Gorilla Tag, etc.
Hardcore games were vital for early adopters—they wouldn’t play Farmville VR.
But the future? IMO it’s all about Farmville VR)
@purplemikey I occasionally use Workrooms (about 10% of the time) as “headphones for the eyes” when I want to focus.
Haven’t tried Immersed yet.
Why Immersed vs Workrooms or VirtualDesktop?
@cixliv If it works in real-time with a headset’s camera stream and provides access to this data, it will unlock many MR use cases.
Eg. it could detect boxing gloves and a punching bag, adding a layer of gamification to a heavy bag workout.
Nice feature for @UltraBoxingVR
You can now buy UltraBoxing VR on App Lab:

Why join Early Access?
- Enjoy the game now – it’s already fun!
- Support the developers
- Lock in the early adopter’s price (will increase post-EA)
@Rengle820@benz145 How would you define and measure “can’t stop playing”?
Would “retained users” in Meta’s user engagement report be a good indicator of this?
An AppLab title appears alongside Quest Store titles for a generic search query 'football' (it is in 6th place) in the Quest app. Is this the beginning?
