I said the same thing last year. Why stop at one hour? Or, people could just work during the night so they have all the daylight while they're off work.
If we're just going to make stuff up RE the time, why not push the clocks ahead three hours? That way, it'll be light out until 11:00 P.M. What's the downside?
You're right. People don't understand basic math. If you fast forward the clock by an hour and also start school an hour later, you have literally done nothing.
I really want to know how many people will be exercising outside, playing sports outside, or playing golf outside from 5-6pm in the middle of winter anywhere in the United States.
My prediction: It'll take us making the mistake of moving to pDST to remind people how terrible it is because we don't learn from our own history, not to mention failed experiments in other countries. Once people revolt over pDST, then we'll move to the logical choice of pST.
@SenTuberville, you and @realDonaldTrump and others in Washington are completely wrong on this. Why isn't anyone listening to medical experts who have stated that standard time is unequivocally better. Why isn't anyone looking at Arizona, which has always been on standard time?

Changing our clocks twice a year is an outdated, burdensome practice.
I encourage my colleagues in the House to support the Sunshine Protection Act and LOCK THE CLOCK.
@JimA3Lit@SaveStandard@SenTomCotton He's talking about winter sunrises, not summer sunrises. In early January, the sun wouldn't rise until 8:28 am in Fayetteville, Arkansas, under permanent DST.
Why are lawmakers continually pushing for something that profits retail and golf lobbyists and not normal Americans? This is baffling. @SaveStandard

How many times will we try to pass the same thing when it has failed to pass many times in recent years? There's a reason this has not passed - because it is a bad bill that isn't backed by scientific studies.
Tomorrow, the wait is over as we spring forward and get an extra hour of sunshine! That means more time to enjoy at the beach, in the park, and with your family.
Who doesn’t love that? I’m fighting to pass my Sunshine Protection Act so we can keep Daylight Saving Time YEAR-ROUND and enjoy more sunshine, not less.
