@cgsobers @thezeiders If you’re confident in your scouting abilities then you should ignore their evaluations but ignoring external opinions of players and where they are valued is beyond stupid. If no one is valuing a player similarly to you, you can trade down and gain more assets.

@thezeiders @AndySpartyOn The 1st is typically pretty close bc there’s an obvious group of 20ish players that are clearly above the rest of board. It doesn’t take a leak from front offices to make that obvious.
How do you explain players, ex. Cole Strange, who no one had going in the 1st going in the 1st?

@hailmarysportss The Jags get disrespected from media on relatively regular basis even if the team is performing well, this makes the default for most fans to defend the team even when they do bizarre or stupid things. Ex. The Urban hire, I remember criticizing the hire while most were elated

The debate is more about utilizing premium assets on players that were not considered premium prospects.

@EEHavenwood @MitchSchwartz71 @MatthewColler 2/ I don’t think prospects w/ injuries are the best indicator of the consensus board due to that informational difference, I think every analyst would concede that players like McCoy and Banks had a lot more variance in their range due to their injuries than others.

@EEHavenwood @MitchSchwartz71 @MatthewColler 1/ Everyone, including NFL teams, make draft decisions based on incomplete information though. Obviously NFL teams have more information than analysts but that should make them more accurate by a significant margin, not comparable.

@EEHavenwood @MitchSchwartz71 @MatthewColler I would say each analyst weighs it to various degrees so it gets baked in. Obviously someone like McCoy is hard to evaluate bc the NFL has access to actual medicals and analysts don’t and the NFL saw those and did not like what they saw.

@DaBears0920 @amicsta Mayock wasn’t actually that bad, Gruden had final say on the roster and made most of the selections on Day 1 and 2. I’m not sure what you’re talking about DJ “not moving up”, the guy was a regional and national scout, you don’t just end up in that position by showing up one day.

@WC57257 @ikenyonFB Look into that Raiders era a little more, Gruden had final say over the roster and basically ran the draft his way for the first few rounds and then would Mayock take over for day 3. In that era most of the Raiders better players came from those later rounds.

@PfHamburguesa @METALeagueCS2 @secnumbersguy What are you talking about? Lacy has a PB 100M of 10.49 w/ +5.0 and a 10.79 is his second best I could find, Love has a PB of 10.54 w/ +6.1 and 10.76 is the other best recorded I could find.

2. Why wouldn’t/shouldn’t you call TO with 0:31 left when your opponent has a TO left?
3. Went for 2 ONCE against UM, Q4 to go up 27-24. Forced UM to score a TD instead of a FG.
This is a pretty clueless/weak sauce argument against PG.

@awfulannouncing As an Ole Miss fan, Was a penalty? Yes, DB initiated contact, was riding the WR for like 15 yards. Is it getting called on the last play? Probably not. Refs were pretty terrible, Ole Miss missed other opportunities to win the game, that’s football.
