the real acceleration is that our children inherit more than our genes
they inherit our tools and discoveries and get to start where we stopped
imagine that compounding toward a kardashev civilization
e/acc
@sundarpichai That will probably happen.
Any self-respecting civilization should at least reach Kardashev Type II.
In my opinion, we are currently only at <5% of Type I. To get to ~30%, we would need to place solar panels in all desert or highly arid regions.
This is the path to a Kardashev Type II civilization that harnesses most of the power of our Sun, which is more than a billion times more energy than everything else on Earth combined
@beffjezos Fission is good, but nothing comes close to that staggeringly gigantic fusion reactor in the sky.
When you think in Kardashev terms, it becomes utterly obvious that the energy released by our Sun is all that matters.
As we progress along the Kardashev Scale, energy harnessed on Earth will increase a hundredfold and will mostly be solar aka fusion aka starlight.
Then energy harnessed will increase perhaps a billionfold if we make it to Kardashev II, with space solar power, and another billionfold if we harness the energy of our galaxy.
What I’m saying is that there is a lot of upside potential!!!
Once you understand Kardashev Scale, it becomes utterly obvious that essentially all energy generation will be solar.
Also, just do the math on solar on Earth and you soon figure out that a relatively small corner of Texas or New Mexico can easily serve all US electricity.
