On May 7th, @AswVickyFlynn and I met to file an OPRA request with the @NewJerseyDOE.
YES- two sitting @NJAssemblyGOP legislators were forced to file a public records request to obtain basic information from a state agency.
Regarding the Office of Special Education, we requested:
1️⃣ A list of all NJDOE employees and positions.
2️⃣ The number of investigators employed by NJDOE.
3️⃣ A list of all pending special education matters for which NJDOE is currently responsible.
4️⃣ Documents listing salaries for NJDOE employees.
5️⃣ Salary information for County Office employees statewide.
6️⃣ Copies of reports issued by the Office of Special Education.
Additionally, we requested:
7️⃣ Documents identifying districts that exceeded the 2% tax levy cap from 2020-2026.
8️⃣ Documents demonstrating NJDOE oversight of those districts.
9️⃣ Copies of OPRA requests received by NJDOE in 2025 and 2026, along with the responses provided.
🚧The Department has now requested an extension to answer until May 29th.
The first set of questions are BASIC and OPERATIONAL.
If sitting legislators are hitting roadblocks obtaining information about staffing, caseloads, oversight, and accountability, imagine what parents are facing when they are trying to get answers about their own kids???
For months, parents have described a Department & Governor's Office that doesn't respond, doesn't communicate & doesn't answer questions. Our own experience here has done nothing to inspire confidence.
KEEP DIGGING.

NJ health inspectors just visited Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark on May 28th, ZERO violations found
Meanwhile, NJ’s own state prisons are “deplorable.” The sanctuary hypocrisy is wild, why do you lie 🤥 Democrats?
I was on the ground at Delaney Hall yesterday.
The protests going on there are lawless and dangerous.
And what are they protesting?
Conditions nicer than most American prisons.
The only chaos I saw was outside.
Boy, this timing is a bit suspect.
I don't ever remember a statewide crusade over correctional facilities that NEW JERSEY actually owns, operates, & controls.
Did you know NJ's own Corrections Ombudsman described portions of New Jersey State Prison in Trenton as inhumane & called for housing units to be flat-out demolished? Crumbling cell blocks, blistering heat, unsafe conditions SO BAD that NJ's own watchdog concluded they should no longer remain in service.
Next up is Edna Mahan Women's Prison— arguably the biggest stain in the history of the NJ Department of Corrections. Long & sordid history of abuse, lawsuits, investigations, federal crackdowns, YEARS before the state addressed it. The federal findings were so scathing that they forced @GovMurphy's hand to close the prison & replace the facility.
Federal Findings: https://t.co/zz0JdAsv2t
Federal Consent Decree: https://t.co/6gh99Esw9U
The state itself reports poor medical care, mold, rodents, flooding, sewage, heat-related illness, communication & visitation issues, violent assaults, retaliation complaints, etc. across the NJDOC. The state also reported that 336 inmates died in NJ prisons between 2018 & 2024, including suicides, overdoses, homicides, & accidents. THAT IS HORRIFIC.
Now here's where it gets confusing. Nearly that entire period overlaps with then-Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill's tenure in Washington. So considering that timeline, do you remember our new @GovSherrillNJ & friends storming prison gates on Memorial Day, climbing fences at New Jersey State Prison, or throwing hands with law enforcement to get inside Edna Mahan Women's Prison?
You know, I just don't remember any of that.
But slap the words @DHSgov & ICE on a building and suddenly it's the moral outrage of this generation.
You draw your own conclusions.
What say you, @NewJerseyOAG ?
📚 When schools were losing millions in aid, Trenton said its hands were tied because it had to follow the formula. Now that those same districts are finally owed increases, the formula is being ignored.
We're fighting for fairness and school funding reform. @DeclanOScanlon
First Anheuser-Busch. Then Exxon. Now Samsung. How many more companies have to leave before Trenton gets the message?
If we want families to afford a home, young professionals to stay, and businesses to invest in NJ, we our our Republican policies that create jobs & lower costs.
Today, we pause to honor the brave souls who gave their lives in service to protect the freedoms we hold dear. Their courage was not just in the battles they fought, but in the quiet moments when they chose duty over comfort, and sacrifice over safety. Their legacy fuels our resolve to honor and protect what they sacrificed for. May God bless them.
The amount of fraud, waste and abuse happening at most of the Democrat states is jaw dropping
The staggering amount of fraud perpetrated on the tax payers money funneling through NGOs and other organizations is pathetic
A thread on NGOs, fraud, waste & abuse👇
🚨The Minnesota fraud empire is falling:
Yesterday 15 fraudsters were charged and $90 million was busted. The MSM tried to cover for the fraudsters. @GovTimWalz called it "white supremacy" to expose it and @IlhanMN is completely SILENT.
Independent journalism defeated an entire fraud network upheld by billions of dollars with support from corrupt politicians who allowed this fraud and the MSM who failed to report it.
Major win for America and hardworking law-abiding taxpaying citizens. This is just the beginning.
Arrest them all.

During the Assembly Budget Committee hearing with the BPU, I pointed out that the Governor’s promise to “freeze utility rates on day one” was false and that the real reason for the spike in energy prices in New Jersey was the previous administration’s closure energy plants!

50% of New Jersey high school graduates are forced to take remedial classes in college because they are not prepared. How can we be number one in this country?
Newark is about to approve a $500 MILLION no-bid school lease with a politically connected developer while 167 school districts across New Jersey are losing state aid.
Taxpayers deserve transparency, competitive bidding, and accountability. NOT sweetheart deals made behind closed doors.
That’s why I introduced legislation to require multiple lease proposals and public approval for long-term school lease agreements.
When billions of taxpayer dollars are on the line, the public deserves a voice.
New Jersey’s school funding formula is failing smaller and rural districts while rewarding Democrat-backed priorities.
Senate Republicans are fighting for a fair formula that puts students first and gets education dollars where they’re needed most.
BREAKING:
The Supreme Court just delivered a massive blow to health freedom.
“This should frighten us all.”
“The system is not going to protect us.”
Here’s what happened:
A federal court quietly delivered one of the most terrifying rulings ever last year.
The Ninth Circuit Court said the government can force any medical intervention on you.
With no evidence or judicial review.
This is the backstory:
In 2021, we filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Unified School District over their Covid-19 vaccine mandates alongside California Educators for Medical Freedom and several individual plaintiffs.
In July 2025, the Ninth Circuit Court ruled against us.
They said that as long as authorities say a mandate is for “public health,” then the courts shouldn’t question them.
And that it didn’t matter whether or not the Covid shots actually worked.
All that matters is that authorities said they did.
So we petitioned the Supreme Court to review this egregious and unprecedented ruling.
But today, the Supreme Court officially denied our petition.
HFDF President Leslie Manookian:
“This means that the Ninth Circuit’s egregious ruling—that it doesn’t matter whether a shot stops transmission or infection, all that matters is that a state official could have believed a shot would help individual members of the public—will stand.”
“And it’s now precedent in the largest circuit in the United States.”
“But this is the most important thing for us to all take away: the system is not going to protect us.”
“It’s up to us, the people … to refuse to ever obey a mandate from authority again.”
“They’re already stirring the pot of fear about the supposed African disease … and this new one from the cruise ships.”
“This is what’s coming, folks.”
“What is going to protect us … is us as individuals standing up, linking arms with our friends and our neighbors, and saying no, we refuse to comply.”
“We will never again obey your civil liberty-violing mandates.”
“And we have to fight state by state to pass laws that protect our rights and freedoms.”
“Because the federal government’s not going to do it.”
This is a saddening setback for health freedom—but we are not giving up.
This year, we launched a coalition to outlaw medical mandates across the state legislatures.
And we’re seeing incredible progress.
In 2025, Idaho’s Medical Freedom Act outlawed almost all medical mandates.
This year, multiple state legislatures have already passed similar laws to outlaw medical mandates.
And similar laws are advancing through state committees in more states.
“While I’m incredibly saddened by this, I’m also galvanized.”
@LeslieManookian
West Orange has $13.5M school budget hole; the district’s solution is to torch middle school sports, eliminate 77 staff positions, increase class sizes & outsource paraprofessionals.
Apparently, they haven't had enough yet.
One day, it's gonna click... 🤦♀️
