@aviflombaum@rails Great tip! ❤️
I remember Devise had `config.stretches = Rails.env.test? ? 1 : 11`, which does something similar. My side project app uses the default Rails authenticator generator and I wasn't doing this! Just did it and saw a decent about 30% boost.
They told me “Year of the Linux Desktop” was just a meme.
But in 2025 it finally could be:
- ✅ Servers run Linux
- ✅ Gaming from the couch with @bazzite_gg (Valve’s SteamOS ❤️)
- ✅ Daily dev work on Omarchy (amazing work @dhh 🤩) on a @FrameworkPuter
I use Arch btw 😎

If you’re paying 3% raises to your best employees, you’re just asking for them to be recruited out. They can get 10% to 20% raises if they leave. Sometimes more.
Minimal raises, several years in a row, creates a big gap between what you’re paying & what they can get elsewhere.
