I pay an untold and ungodly number of fees just to exercise basic rights in the United States—none of which were approved by a legislating body.
Yet somehow when it comes to immigration policy it’s an unauthorized tax? I’ll have whatever that judge is smoking.

Dozens of third world countries have had free and fair elections with ballots counted in 24 hours.
California is also a gross outlier among the 50 states in speed of vote counting.
Is it competence or fraud?
The Minnesota Learing Center employed people. If we truly wanted jobs the state could pay people to dig a canal across the nation with spoons.
Bastiat had a whole essay on this topic. Just because money flows and people are employed does not mean this is remotely sound economic policy.
Political malpractice.
Self defense is one of the most fundamental rights. One can only think of waiving that right when the society is either so safe or so well policed that it becomes unnecessary to carry weapons for self defense.
The UK is neither so safe nor is it so well policed that one can or should be expected to abandon the most basic human rights. Meanwhile, apparently, certain segments of the society are fully allowed to carry dangerous weapons that have just been used to murder someone.
A failed society is the only way this state of affairs can be described. The idea of a society is to have some social contract: “trade some of your rights that you can have more rights.”
What evidence exists that the UK government has held up its end of the bargain? I have seen none. The UK citizens must demand accountability from their representatives.
