Friedland: Because they killed a million people
My sweet summer children, do not live your lives based on what coca cola is comfortable placing their ads next to. Say cunt. Say fuck. I beg you. This is our house, not theirs. If we must perish, let it be on two feet; not grovelling on the floor like animals.
It's great that our descendants will be able to look back at the movements that influenced nearly all architecture in their day- Art Nouveau, Modernism, Bauhaus, Art Deco, and see that for decades at the dawn of the 21st century, for a large part of the planet, nearly all public works were shaped by hating poor people as a primary design consideration.
Frank Lloyd Wright designed structures with leaky roofs but at least it was an accident. Imagine you told him "Ok Mr. Wright, visualize someone who is cold, wet, hungry- seeking shelter in a public space in one of richest countries in the world, during the most prosperous time in human existence- you've got that image? Ok great, perfect- now Mr. Wright, how can we amplify that, and inflict more misery on them through design?"
