Seemingly hyperbolic and coming from the 'dancing crew' wouldn't warrant extra caution?
The crew rushed into the fray to experiment with big-time shock doctrine inside 🇺🇲 soil.
Clever, they're.
Whether it will come to pass is everyone's guess, but complacency is never helpful.
I often criticized Lindsey Graham. But this weekend, I learned his full story:
- Orphaned young, he adopted & raised his little sister instead of letting her go into the system.
- Grew up dirt poor, racking balls in his parents’ pool hall.
- In search of opportunity, he joined the Air Force. Served 33 years. Retired a Colonel.
- Then spent decades in Congress, earning respect across the aisle.
- Bashed Trump hard in ~2016, then respected the will of the voters, and grew to become a loyal ally.
- Humble. Devoted to his constituents.
- Driven by patriotism (even when misguided). Never in it for the money. Could've cashed in any time like most of his colleagues.
- That Disney trip everyone mocked? Just a good uncle taking his beloved nieces. He smiled through (and ignored) the hate to protect his family.
RIP to a self-made American original.
🇺🇸 🇱🇧 Lebanonization of U.S. politics, from plutocracy to dynastic successions: 24 hours after a Senator’s death, Treasury Secretary suggests that his unknown, inexperienced sister should be chosen to inherit the seat. Public office as a family legacy rather than a public trust…
Alas, the attempt at levity has come, but to no avail; hoping it will make a difference this time is well-nigh impossible.
If there's a scintilla of enlightenment, Washington ought to make a solemn move to stop the only Jewish state from going to a fleeting suicidal end - FAST.
Axios: "Do you consider Israel an apartheid state?"
Gavin Newsom: "I said that was directional as it relates to what Tom Friedman was arguing about the annexation of the West Bank... so no."
"My biggest concern—my red flag—is Netanyahu, period… I've been very critical of him."
"I've long supported the state of Israel."
Perhaps the U.S. President should also examine his own words. He has repeatedly insulted Somalis & tarnished an entire people. That rhetoric breeds resentment, particularly among young Somalis.
If Washington cares about this relationship, it should recognise that words from the White House carry consequences too.👇🏾
I fought with Lindsey more than I worked with him. But if there was a big issue before the Senate, one thing was true: you couldn't avoid him. He was a force of nature.
I remember negotiating with him through the night, trying unsuccessfully to win his support for the 2024 bipartisan immigration bill. Without his consent, we knew it couldn't pass. I remember how winning his support for the 2022 breakthrough bipartisan gun bill essentially secured its passage through the Senate.
In my time in the Senate, there have been few more powerful, more energetic Senators than Lindsey Graham. It's hard to imagine the Senate without him, and despite our differences, I will miss him greatly.
As the Senate reconvenes this week without him, my thoughts are with his family, his many close friends, and his staff.
"By all metrics Qatar is a small state. But Sheikh Hamad has been able to find ways to generate influence with the means available to project strategic depth. And his achievements are often reduced to economic metrics, when statecraft is so much more than that"
Hamada defined how lean leadership and fearless vision could shape one's country, setting the stage for future generations to build on.
He left a mark.
May his memory be a blessing.
Yesterday I was ambushed and attacked by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, together with the CNN and independent journalists. Here is how it happened:
I am saddened to learn of the passing of my former colleague, Senator Lindsey Graham. He was full of wit, energy, and charm, and he cared deeply about the Senate and the people of South Carolina. Doug and I are sending our thoughts and our prayers to his friends and loved ones.
#Qatar's Amir Sheikh @TamimBinHamad Al Thani carries the coffin of his father, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir, during the funeral prayers at Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque in #Doha on Sunday evening. Qatar observes four days of national mourning.
This casts doubt on the good message that Islam is all about: compassion, character, and getting the way the prophetic way of life, the creed Muhamed (upon whom be peace), embodied in private and public for the sheer kindness and good wishes to all, regardless.
Bless your heart.
Jill and I are shocked by the sudden passing of Lindsey Graham.
Lindsey and I served together in Congress for over a decade, and worked closely on many issues throughout the years. We traveled the world together as members of the Senate Foreign Relations committee. We disagreed often, and sometimes loudly.
Lindsey and I did agree on the profound importance of public service. Like me, he loved the Senate as an institution, even with all its flaws and complexities.
To his family, his staff, his constituents in South Carolina, and everyone who loved him: Jill and I are keeping you in our prayers.
I got to know Senator Lindsey Graham traveling with him abroad in Afghanistan and Ukraine. We had just met to renew the fight for our Big Tech bill.
Even though we disagreed on much, he was always willing to negotiate, with humor and wit.
My heart goes out to his loved ones.
Sending my deep condolences to Senator Lindsey Graham’s family, friends, and all those who loved him.
What I’ll remember most about Senator Graham was his sense of humor and how he deployed it to move his policy positions forward. Though we did not often agree, Senator Graham was never disagreeable. And I will fondly remember our travels around the world along with Senator McCain to advance America’s national security interests, and the respect world leaders had for him.
His staunch support for Ukraine, his willingness to reach across the aisle, and his quick wit and larger-than-life energy are all part of his memory and legacy.
Sad to hear Lyndsey just passed away.
The guy sought to live an unshakable life, loved all what America has got to offer, albeit with a big-time dose of perfidy.
Every one of us has got a baggage, that we can only wish it away.
May his memory be a blessing.
What's the nature of the said 'tip off,' oddly hyperbolic coming from Mossad crooks?
It'd be reckless to go ahead with unproven intel as "exquisite"; lest it turns out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy, as equally, to remain unperturbed, as it's something will never come to pass.
BANNON: This thing about the Mossad "tipping off President Trump" about a potential assassination attempt by Iran is laughable.
Let me get this right; this is the same group that COMPLETELY MISCALCULATED the situation in Iran, and let's be honest, they sold the president a bill of goods.
And we STILL don't have answers for the inciting incident of October 7th.
Now the Mossad is desperately trying to push that Iran is attempting to assassinate the president?
WE'RE NOT GOING TO DO A GROUND INVASION. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
