@Keygen7z@Israel_Won_@israel_advocacy@IhabHassane You tried to spell abhorrent and wrote ‘Abhorant” instead. I wouldn’t lecture other people about their English.
English is a proper noun, by the way, so you capitalise it. ‘english’ is incorrect. Your English is trash 😊
After the Green Party's "Zionism is Racism" vote, the Leader of Haringey Council, which is controlled by the Greens, wrote to various Synagogues in the borough to "reassure" them.
I want to show you Highgate Synagogue's reply. I believe it is worth reading in its entirety.
You teach your kids to worship death, you start pointless wars you can’t win despite knowing the cost, you sacrifice your own families in pursuit of a doomed forever-jihad, and you have the nerve to lecture others about bombing kids.
You’re the ones who strap explosive vests to your own children. You’re the ones who walk into cafes full of kids and set off nail bombs. You’re the ones who paraded the corpses of hostage toddlers in macabre TV-camera ceremonies.
Dead kids is your thing. Nobody else’s.
That’s why this has always been a conflict between civilisation and barbarism. Calling you medieval would be a compliment you don’t deserve, habibi.
@Techweek_@realAdamLevi A principled decision. Well done.
Don’t tolerate or appease the mob. Nothing will ever be enough for them. They just want blood.
You have to remember that Israelis are basically the only surviving Jews outside the Anglosphere, after the 20th century saw the destruction of almost every Jewish community in Eurasia. Very few Jewish families started and ended the 20th century in the same place.
As such, when you tell them they have some kind of moral or legal obligation to give any part of their country over to Arabs, who not only already have a continent sized swathe of territory, but also immediately set about trying to murder them the last time Israelis handed them any land, they’re probably going to tell you to get fucked.
If they had stayed in Gaza everyone would have been objectively better off. Tens of thousands of people would still be alive. The trial run of Palestinian statehood ended in Arab Einsatzgruppen going door to door murdering Jewish civilians followed by one of the largest and longest urban battles in modern history.
A Palestinian state would just be that, but bigger. Israelis will literally go to any lengths humanly possible to stop that, and since they’re a nuclear state and heavily militarized society populated by some of the most high-agency people on the planet, they ultimately have the final say.
Thus, this ending with Palestinian territorial self determination of any kind is predicated on them being disabused of their genocidal fantasy of driving the Jews into the sea. Anyone who supports them in that impulse is just helping get them killed.
All your solidarity is doing is feeding their sick fantasy of mass beheadings in Tel Aviv, and ultimately, most of the heads that end up rolling whenever they act on those fantasies tend to be theirs.
@jacobscheier Serious question - do you plan to mask up forever? Because covid is never going to stop circulating. The Spanish flu is still doing the rounds.
Most Brits do not hate Jews. Most people in the west don’t care and know that they don’t know enough to have a strong position either way. They dislike what they see on the news about Jewish terrorism in the West Bank, or the scale of devastation in gaza… and they definitely dislike what they see (or experience) of Muslim terrorism both over there and against us in the west. The latter is far more of an actual concern.
Aside from the very real antisemitic tropes which get picked up and deployed by the anti-Israel mob - not denying that - the problem Israel faces is that its people are just culturally similar enough that westerners expect them to behave the same way we do, and just different enough to be weird and make us uncomfortable.
It’s a tragic combo to deal with. Particularly when the way we behave in the west has been so suicidally retarded for so long. but that might be changing…
Anyway, the Israelis have my sympathies. And the people parroting antisemitic tropes and hyper focusing on Israel in an unfair, one sided way, they have my contempt. But it just isn’t true that most Brits hate Jews. That’s a lazy and inaccurate way to explain Israel’s reputation problem.
Antisemitism is part of the picture… but it’s not the whole story. Gotta consider more factors if you ever hope to change it.
@ForgetfuP@jewndahalfmen@nkulw Your opinions should change if you become aware of facts that contradict them.
Ideology, beliefs… are you talking about positions based on evidence? Or are you talking about secular faith?
“Tell the truth” should be your primary principle. Especially to yourself.
If you are a movement opposed to capital, is it really surprising that capital opposes you?
Do you think capital will stop opposing the left? If that’s really the explanation, you might be out of power for a while.
Here’s a fun experiment - research who votes for the populist right, and who votes for the left, then break the data down by class demographics as best you can. income bracket, college degree, etc.
Ponder the results. Similar trends in countries across the world. Ask yourself why.
It was draining beyond belief. But you delude yourself into thinking it serves a greater purpose, so you put up with the annoying bullshit and keep going back.
When you eventually realise the annoying bullshit *is* the purpose, you stop going back and find a better hobby. Hopefully. Some people never stop crawling back in… maybe this time will be different, comrades
