I’m actually quite optimistic on the future of Jewish statehood and independence.

We’ve got smart, organized, very determined and cohesive people, and they have an amorphous disorganized angry mob, most of whom are miserable and hate their own lives.

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

@sharghzadeh Nah this guy is a stone cold volcel. Chad territory

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

I did notice that out of all Levantines, Jews were the angriest about the March Massacre of the Alawites last year.

There was no equivocation about “regime remnants”, it was clearly identified as sectarian genocide. The Israeli governments statement was the ONLY one, out of any country, that identified the victims and perpetrators and explicitly called it terrorism

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

I’ve noticed that out of all the Mizrachim, Syrian Jews have the most complicated and conflicted relationship with their former country.

Moroccan Jews still like Morocco. Iraqi Jews despise Iraq with a passion. Iranian Jews hate the IR but are diehard Iranian nationalists.

With Syrian Jews though it’s more complicated. They were the first Syrians to be persecuted by other Syrians for being the wrong kind of Syrian- but then LOTS of Syrians ended up being persecuted by other Syrians for being the wrong kind of Syrian.

So there’s really no point in being vindictive about it anymore.

On one hand Jews can understand the minority communities who found themselves on the side of the authoritarian state to protect themselves from Sunni religious and political domination.

But on the other hand we can understand the Sunnis perspective of then living under a dictatorship that distrusted them on a sectarian basis.

At some point in our history we have been in both of these situations.

That being said, I don’t know many Syrian Jews who have any interest in going back, even if some of them do still hold an affinity for the place.

2,000 years of Jewish life in Syria has ended, because Syrians wanted it to. One of countless ancient Jewish communities wiped out by their own neighbors over just a few decades.

I know Syrians who do truly wish they still had their Jewish community. They’d really come in handy right now. But that ship really has sailed, and we’d all be better served by moving on.

@JacobL1994_ Plural you, I've noticed a surge in Jewish sympathy for them since Sharaa took power.

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

@RyszardWuWei Alawites having to basically sell their souls to the security state for protection is dead on what happened with Jews in a lot of the communist bloc so I unfortunately find it very relatable

Goyim:

“Jews are such petty and vindictive people, who hold grudges forever”

Jews seeing a bunch of ex-ba’athists who spent the past 80 years trying to kill us:

“We are best friends now and I love you”

(I’m JK I love Druze)

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

@BatiniFuturist I figured. Admittedly I don’t like legacy Ba’ath stuff but whatever

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

Hey guys much love to the Druze but uh… maybe a different salute would be a good idea lmao

@kuruuzuum They’re not though. They’re just Druze

@StarsBright_29 That was the salute the Assadists used and they carried it over.

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

@parmenidesfan I’ve liked Alawites for a while tbh

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

Love and hate aren’t the right words here.

I don’t hate them, I’m just disappointed and frustrated that they keep choosing belligerence when we could have all built a better Levant together.

Gaza could have been Arab Singapore. That’s what we all wanted them to be. But they just chose war over and over.

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

Israelis when they see a Druze person

Who was that Lebanese Druze guy who half of Israeli Twitter decided to befriend against his will I forget his name

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

@duga404 I mean they were Arab Nazis so it tracks

@spectralfrenzy I know I know I’m kidding

I give the disclaimer that I’m not an expert on this.

I’m interested in military aviation and counterterrorism which got me interested in Pakistan because a lot of that happens there.

During the course of doing so I’ve gotten to observe Pakistani young people as they attempt to navigate this new technology-driven culture.

Lots of them are doing just fine, but I also see many of them lost and despondent, adrift in a confusing new world where everything comforting and familiar has been disrupted.

From what I know about Jinnah, he wanted to create a national home for Muslims in South Asia to be able to meet the challenges of modernity on their own terms, filtered through their own cultural lens.

But that doesn’t seem to be happening for a lot of young people over there. It seems like in many cases, these disturbing online trends emanating from the west have ran them over like a freight train.

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

See this is why Pakistan is such an interesting country.

You’ve got a very conservative society where sometimes people marry their cousins in their village like it’s the 1800s, but they also use terms like “e-foid” and are terminally online.

On one hand they have a challenge of the country not being modern enough. Needing to modernize infrastructure, education, etc.

But the other hand there’s a challenge of being TOO modern.

Children from villages in Peshawar should not know who Andrew Tate is. They should not know about redpill blackpill hypergamy looksmaxxing, all these things are dangerous cognitohazards that obliterate traditional societies and healthy communities. South Asia in particular seems very vulnerable to these trends.

That’s the challenge- become modern enough to escape poverty but not so modern as to go completely insane from technological horrors beyond comprehension.

Good luck guys.

[🇵🇰 @spideyb4lls]

e-foid just told me I'll die a virgin loser but she doesn't know I'm the most handsome man in my village and have multiple cousin marriages lined up

Trafalgar has disappeared from the national consciousness because the British are ashamed of martial prowess unless it is in service to a) someone else or b) a postwar abstract ideal like Democracy or Human Rights.

@IyerDharmapuri That’s why it’s a LARP

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

Periodically I hear people say that Israel should sever its intelligence connections with various western countries due to hostile actions they take.

This is a terrible idea.

Western intelligence officers, defense industry types, and military leaders tend to be very pro-Israel.

Israel should be maintaining ties with these people, and indeed, helping prepare them to take back their leftist and Islamist compromised governments if necessary

[李学生 [BK201] @CONTRACTORHEI]

@JacobL1994_ According to now retired prime ministerial candidate, Yossi 'The Model' Cohen, service to service relations tend to be quite chipper. In his campaign biography Cohen waxed lyrical about all the good times he had with Thames House and Vauxhall Cross in London.

Take whatever nonsense you convinced yourself about America being a great melting pot and throw it in the trash.

“If I am not for myself, then who?

And if not now, then when?”

[Jacob L @JacobL1994_]

The fact that any Jewish activists thought trying to turn America into a propositional nation- a contradiction in terms- would be beneficial for our security was mind bogglingly retarded.
