@realityforge_ has released a new version 0.13 of Akasha: Typed Browser API for #GWT and #J2CL.
For all #Java devs who want to implement Web browser apps and features without #JavaScript 😉

On the heels of cuts to skilled migration, unworkable privacy laws and cuts to govt funded R&D (totalling $4B cut so far), I didn't think it could get worse for tech jobs in Australia. But it has.
@ignaciobaca@inline@noinline @pure I guess what I really would love is a way of forcing some code to run at link time. This would be excellent in GWT/J2CL world we you could do some code (like java based generation of CSS) during linking phase without impacting the runtime. One can dream ...
@ignaciobaca@inline@noinline @pure It would also make it a lot easier when cross compiling to javascript to performa a whole bunch of optimizations. Some of these can be easily discovered by whole program analysis at runtime but much harder to enforce as code evolves.
@MrBenJ5 @dan_abramov There does seem to be a lot of the react priests policing the faithful to ensure the echo chamber resonates. Alternatives are unlikely to be considered at this point
@ambisinister Interesting - I had the same error yesterday and worked around it by restructuring code to not call forEach - I wonder if it is the same cause
42 year old me wishes 21 year old me hadn’t been talked into doing a PhD in AI and machine learning. I’d really like to be excited about all the AI/ML work going on at the moment, but all I’m seeing is the same problems/mistakes of 20 years ago, but with more CPU resources.
@kentcdodds@geddski GWT did this for js in 2007, and css a little later. Although you could have separate permutations for whatever you wanted ... as long as you were willing to pay for it in compilation time
The "National Energy Guarantee":
👉 reduces emissions by a pathetic 0.2% per year
👉 does nothing to improve reliability
👉 does nothing to reduce electricity bills
👉 does nothing to encourage investment
