STEM/STEAM is more than education it’s a launchpad for the future. 🌍🚀
As we celebrate Artemis II and women like Christina Koch, we’re reminded: inclusion + + science must go together.
@UnescoGhana is committed to expanding STEM access across Ghana.

What rains across the Solar System? Rain isn’t just a thing on Earth — every world has its own wildly extreme version of “precipitation.” Here’s the cosmic forecast
Mercury
No atmosphere → no rain at all. Just scorching days and freezing nights.
Venus
Thick clouds of sulfuric acid → acid rain falls from the sky… but the hellish surface heat evaporates it before it ever reaches the ground (a phenomenon called virga). Earth
The classic water cycle → refreshing liquid water rain, snow, sleet, and hail that actually hits the surface.
Mars
Super-thin atmosphere → dry ice snow (frozen CO₂) that falls, especially at the poles during winter.
Jupiter
Deep in its crushing atmosphere: helium rain (helium droplets falling through metallic hydrogen) + possible diamond rain formed from compressed carbon.
Saturn
Similar extreme conditions → helium rain and diamond rain, where lightning-created soot gets crushed into glittering gems that hail down through the layers.
Uranus & Neptune
Icy giants with even more intense pressures → diamond rain is strongly predicted here too. Carbon from methane gets squeezed into diamonds that sink toward the core.
Pluto
Freezing temperatures → methane snow and frost that caps its mountain peaks and crater rims, creating an otherworldly “snow-capped” look (though it forms by direct condensation rather than typical cloud-based snowfall). From corrosive acid droplets to showers of diamonds and exotic ices, our Solar System serves up some of the most bizarre weather imaginable. What’s your favorite planetary precipitation?
In John 14, Jesus describes an profound mutual indwelling. The believer is not an isolated observer of the Divine, but is drawn into the very fellowship of the Trinity. Obedience is the natural overflow of this union, as the Spirit makes the presence of the Father and Son a felt reality.

What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity. Thanks to everyone at @NASA for making this mission possible, and for taking us along for the ride.
From the Lecture Halls of Legon to the Moon: Celebrating Christina Koch
I join the University of Ghana and the entire nation in celebrating NASA Astronaut Christina Koch on her historic membership of the Artemis II mission.
It is a point of immense pride to learn that Christina, the only woman on this pioneering lunar mission, was once an exchange student at our very own University of Ghana during the 1999/2000 academic year.
Her time at Legon was not just a passing visit; she truly immersed herself in our culture and heritage. By studying the History of Ghana, the History of Africa, Rural Sociology, Music, and even Twi for Beginners, she built a foundation of global citizenship right here in Accra.
Her gesture of hoisting the Ghanaian flag in outer space was a deeply touching moment for every Ghanaian. It is a testament to the fact that no matter how far one travels, even into the vastness of space, the friendships made and the lessons learned stay with you.
Christina’s journey from the classrooms of the University of Ghana to the frontiers of space exploration serves as a powerful inspiration to every young Ghanaian. It reminds us that our educational institutions continue to produce and shape global leaders who break barriers and reach for the stars.
On behalf of a proud nation, I wish Christina Koch and the entire Artemis II crew godspeed on your return journey to earth. May your success continue to inspire generations across Ghana, Africa, and the world to believe that there's no height that is insurmountable.
Congratulations, Christina.
Ghana is proud of you!
