Haven’t posted on social in quite some time but can’t stay quiet in this time of loss. I’m struggling to tell all what Bobby Cox meant to me and so many others in Braves Country.
He was the leader of men and a second father to so many Atlanta Braves thru the yrs. I’m so sad today, but as I sit here watching my two youngest boys play in their championship games on the day he passed, I can’t help but shout the same things he did from the corner of the dugout. ‘Come on kid, u got this!’
We are gonna miss him so much, but his legacy is forever cemented with the success of this franchise for the last 35+ yrs. He started it as GM, continued as manager, and passing the torch to others, the Atlanta Braves will continue to be force that Bobby Cox always wanted us to be. We love you Skipper. You were our rock. I love you more than words can express.
My boys won both of their games…..Bobby had a hand, I have no doubt!

While there are many people celebrating the demise of LIV, for far too long there were far too many mute mouths about the cancer that LIV was and is.
It tilted the game towards greed. It muddied the meritocratic aspects of golf. It’s likely that the philanthropic foundations of this game will, to some extent, be eaten into to fund the future equity of PGA Tour players. It stalled, or killed, the trajectory of hall of fame players. It divided the game.
The only win, as I see it, is that LIV sought to launder the atrocities of the Saudis, but instead it further highlighted them.
As LIV players sold their autonomy, the whole sport seemed to be in the throes of transition, from professionalism to authoritarianism.
But the golf world knew that the Saudis were not interested in golf and that sport has norms that are worth preserving.
Money, not for merit, but for the murky purposes of sportwashing crowds out those norms.
It is in the striving to get better that one gets richer, that is the transformative influence of sport; both the athlete and audience benefit from the norms of competition. Sportswashing, what MBS/PIF were attempting to do with LIV by paying athletes for their celebrity to confer legitimacy on their murderous regime, reverses this process because it is only ostensibly about the competition, it is primarily about the obfuscation of the horrors of the regime. Both the athlete and the audience are robbed of the transformative influence of sport and what they are participating in and watching is merely a facade, a base amusement.
So it is no surprise that almost nobody watched.
Good riddance to the Saudi backed LIV.
I don’t think people realize how much healthcare costs are driving big companies to fire and not hire.
It costs them $30k per family, per year for premiums and care. Most of that goes to the massive, vertically integrated insurance companies that send weekly bills that no one reviews in details. And it doesn’t include the company overhead to deal with it all. It’s usually the 2nd largest expense after payroll. Which is insane
It’s far easier to blame AI than it is to blame Healthcare costs.
Want to increase jobs, wages and improve affordability for every American ?
Break up the biggest insurance companies. Make divest non insurance companies. They don’t need thousands of subsidiaries. That’s how they game and abuse the system and increase costs for all of us.
Call your senator and tell them to support the BreakUp Big Medicine Bill by @HawleyMO and @SenWarren.
HE STEPPED IN TO PROTECT A LITTLE GIRL
27-year-old Dan Elkayam from France was killed in the Sydney terror attack.
Dan was a young French Jewish engineer from Le Bourget.
Dan loved playing soccer and was proud to represent France and the Jewish community at the 2022 Maccabiah International Tournament.
On the first night of Hanukkah, like so many young Jews far from home, he came to bond with his people at the Chanukkah Menorah lighting.
As the bullets began flying, Dan rushed to protect a little girl with his own body and succumbed to the terrorists' bullets.
May his memory be a blessing. 💔🕯️
Rob Reiner was an American Icon who, through his art and activism, held a mirror up to American culture. His talent, humor, activism, and patriotism will be missed. Our heart breaks at the senseless loss of our friend.
On this first night of Hanukkah, Michelle and I are praying for the families mourning a loved one after the horrific terrorist attack against Jewish people in Australia. For everyone lighting a candle tonight, may the glow of the menorah brighten your darkest moments. Chag Sameach from our family to yours.
@Phil6741400@avidseries Could I ask why? In sincerity... He and I share many features in common, a few of them should be obvious but I can expound. And, yes, I voted for Bernie in 2016 and 2020. But other than not wanting to pay more federal taxes, why would you dislike Bernie?
@HarrisPeskin Thank you! This Ashekanzi Jew, both sides back to Moses, Bar Mitzvah & Confirmed at 17, sure knows JD is another con artist and certainly not on OUR side while he goes along with Great Replacement Theory rigmarole!
The @Paris2024 Opening Ceremony showcased the world’s most beautiful city. Imaginative, inventive and memorable. The performance by Celine Dion touched hearts. She epitomized the Olympic spirit with her determination, courage and incomparable talent.
I am appalled to learn about the shooting of former U.S. President Donald Trump at his rally in Pennsylvania.
Such violence has no justification and no place anywhere in the world. Never should violence prevail.
I am relieved to learn that Donald Trump is now safe and wish him a speedy recovery. My condolences go out to the close ones of this attack’s victim, a rally attendee.
I extend my wishes for strength to everyone who is horrified by this event. I wish America emerges stronger from this.
@stephenwifhat@Maki_Kyle@sekrah@jeffmcg88 Brandel did precisely ask a question about how Bryson felt about the camaraderie as a 'family' on the other tour. Bryson took it a bit deeper, which is why that was such a good interview. Not glib at all, like most golf interviews.
