@DNathan70056 @vashikoo Yeah, it was pretty egregious. But that was only part of the problem. The screenwriter said he kept getting 'notes' from Travolta, about what to include. Which made the film even more convoluted. It was his only ever filmed script.

@DNathan70056 @vashikoo It stars John Travolta, he was coasting on Pulp Fiction good will, but by the 2000's that good will was dwindling. This and Battlefield Earth ended that good will to the point people dreaded a Travolta movie.

@TheVallyD The first recorded lobotomy. Gage's personality completely changed after that. He went from being a reliable, calm, 'set your watch to him' kinda guy, to being unable to hold down a job. Being belligerent, getting into arguments. I think Robert Winston wrote about him.

@JosephKahn Scorsese too. I think there's also the point where collaborators retire or pass away. Peter Jackson hasn't directed a film in ten years due to the loss of his close friend and cinematographer Andrew Lesnie. Collab'ing with longtime crew makes the process more streamlined.
