@johannafateman @RutkowskiNathan If you can get to one of Minerva’s classes, she is amazing. Not sure if ASL still does drop in, but their drop in classes were monitored (vs taught- Minerva teaches)
rec of the day: LOVE CHILD "never meant to be: 1988-1993" (12XU 2LP) superb comp by this most excellent trio. from alan licht's guitar freakouts to rebecca odes' dream pop vocals to all else, this one really takes me back. like an alt-universe yo la tengo.

@jillian_mapes this is the sad order of the media universe. we spent ten years building https://t.co/IgV4SCNSCt as an antidote to seventeen magazine only to have seventeen magazine buy it, shut it down, and use it as a pointer to their own site.
i’ve been in semi-passive support of Swift mania, even defending her to haters. but calling those songs “the full range of any person’s experience” is a shocking level of media stupidity for any publication, much less the @nytimes
@mikkipedia Chinatown. Somehow still jankily magical after all these years. There's a museum of Art and Olfaction! They used to have scent making workshops on Wednesdays, not sure if they restarted after Covid.

@michaelaWat If you want to really lose your mind, google PRECAUTIONARY PRINCIPLE in EU (vs US, where they wait until they are 1000% multiple double-blind-study SURE something definitely kills you before they stop someone from making money on selling it with no indication of potential harm)
Black women and many Jewish women (me) with naturally frizzy and curly hair are pressured to have smooth hair all our lives. Thanks to a lack interest in women’s health— we are suffering these beauty effects in the form of cancers and who knows what else.
