You are the one who has harmed the future of our youth the most.
You allowed and encouraged the total capture and destruction of our education system - and protected every person responsible for it.
The students’ demands are clear:
1. Sack Dharmendra Pradhan.
2. Apologise to the students.
3. Take action against those who assaulted them.
THE MAINOO PROBLEM
What’s all the fuss about?
To base an entire footballing project, as they call them now, on one player, no matter how good or great, is a highly romantic and a highly unrealistic notion; projects these days are comprehensive endeavours involving everything from tactial vision, recruitment, fitness and nutrition.
No room for old-school romanticism there.
And yet, if the project your club is building does not find ample space nor an adequate role for the best player your academy has produced in almost a decade - in other words, a player like Kobbie Mainoo - what does it say about that project?
Kobbie Mainoo has been dealt a bad card and is now left holding it, while the game moves on. He is not an Amorim midfielder, in the sense of what Amorim himself says he wants in a midfielder at United.
Or to be more precise, because Amorim cannot say this directly: what he is looking for in a pivot partner for Bruno, who is sure to start almost every United game this year, and is likely to play most of them as a CM.
Mainoo is not a runner, a ground-covering and tackling machine whose primary IP function is not to receive under presssure, carry & pass, but rather to provide support for those who do.
He’s not a fantastic passer, either, able to launch long-range passes into space like Casemiro does. He’s not a traditional playmaker who might drop deep between CBs and dictate play while facing forward.
So what, then, is Kobbie Mainoo and why should he be an imporant piece of any top team?
Why all the fuss? 👇
It’s always ifs & hypotheticals when you’re excusing or defending what’s going on at United under Amorim, never any concrete evidence (in which we have seen for the other side of the debate). I can’t keep going round in circles about xG, touches in the box, possession, when it materialises to nothing.
We’ve had the hard proof & evidence of a LONG stretch, of games with a pre-season now too. The tweaks that he could make are staring him down the barrel and he is not budging. I hold the board accountable MASSIVELY, for what’s going on but as a coach, you have to adapt to your personnel & I must reiterate this AGAIN, that does not mean you have to change your shape or alter your principles.
If your ‘philosophy’ is where the players stand on the pitch and nothing more then that’s outright ridiculous. If your philosophy is to; control the game, use wing-play, defend compact etc. you can do all of this regardless of the formation. Your system cannot simply be the numbers or shape your set an XI up in.
There is NO evidence to suggest this gets better after 3, 12, 18 or 24 months. Nothing at all at Manchester United suggests it’s going to get better if he persists.
What a comp. Not just the goals. Dribbles, passes, defending. Seeing Rashford in flow is one of the joys of football. Still pains me that it's not in a Man Utd jersey, but at this point I just feel good about those who find themselves again.
@airtelindia@Airtel_Presence why is your service so shit. I had to get a new sim because the earlier one stopped working. Now it's been more than 24 hours since new sim activation that I'm still unable to send sms to verify the new sim to use banking/payment apps.
