The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help locating 9-year-old twins Solomon and Marozhina Sukonick, who were allegedly abducted by their father, David Sukonick, on July 23, 2026, around 8:00 PM near the 1000 block of West Avenue J-8 in Lancaster, California.

• Last seen wearing pink shorts and a white shirt

👦 Solomon Sukonick

👤 Suspect: David Sukonick
• 71 years old
• 5’7”, 135 lbs.
• Brown hair, green eyes

🚗 They were last seen traveling in a 2011 black Lincoln Town Car with California license plate: SOLOYST.

Authorities say the children are considered at risk, and there is serious concern for their well-being.

For those wondering, I’m the “retired investigator” referenced in the @NewsNation article covering @BrianaWhitney’s reporting on the Nancy Guthrie ransom notes.

I had the privilege of speaking with Briana before the Crime Junkie episode aired. As a retired detective with 30 years investigating violent crime, a FBINA grad and an FBI-trained crisis/hostage negotiator, one of the areas we discussed was the language used throughout the Nancy Guthrie case including the wording, tone and communication strategies reflected in the ransom communications and Savannah Guthrie’s public video appeals.

Language is evidence. By itself, it rarely solves a case but it can help investigators understand behavior, evaluate credibility and determine what questions should be asked next.

The excerpts discussed by Crime Junkie and now reported by NewsNation offer the public a small glimpse into one piece of a much larger investigation. Like every piece of evidence, those communications deserve careful analysis rather than quick conclusions.
