In a medical emergency, every second counts.
Make sure your house or flat number is visible from the road outside, if not please send someone to meet our crews if possible, so we can get to the patient's side as quickly as we can.

Apply for one of the most exciting volunteer roles possible, become an emergency responder – specially trained volunteers who help save lives across the capital.
We have launched a recruitment campaign for volunteers and are seeking new recruits from ethnic minority backgrounds.
This week we unveiled 4 new Skoda Kodiaqs bought for our #volunteer#emergency responders, bringing the number of vehicles from 8 to 12.
We are expanding our team of ERs, people who donate their time attending 999 calls in uniform and blue-light response cars.
We're exceptionally busy at the moment. Our call handlers experience abuse over the phone, this is not acceptable and slows down the calls. They signed up to help people and to get the best and fastest response to patients that need help.

If you no longer need an ambulance or you can make your own way to hospital, please call us back on 999 to let us know.
Our crews can then be redirected to other patients who need us.

We continue to receive a high number of calls to our 999 and 111 control rooms.
Our call handlers are working hard helping those in need.
Help us help you - only call 999 in a life threatening emergency.
James is working again today, this time on a double-crewed ambulance out of Hayes. Since COVID, ERs have been working alongside front line crews on ambulances, responding to 999 calls. So far they have attended 4 patients in 5 hours, including a patient taken ill at the airport.
James and Tim covered over 100 miles across London during their 12 hour shift! They attended to 9 patients including an RTC involving a motorcycle. They also attended two patients with chest pain, and were able to administer pain relief before the crews arrived.

Our emergency responders have to perform a kit check before they start their shifts. Here's James and Tim carrying out their final checks before responding to calls.

Ben and Jonny have been out today on ER66 from 1200 until 2000. Jonny is a student and Ben is a musician but both of them volunteer as Emergency Responders for the LAS in their free time.

Tyler and Jenny are two of our volunteer 'Emergency Responders' (ERs) who give their spare time to responding to patients across London.
We went behind the scenes with them on a shift - watch a clip below and click to learn more about our ERs. #TeamLAS
