There's a new all-time goals leader in boys lacrosse.
Athens Drive's Jay Cohn broke the old mark of 316 last week that stood for less than a full year after Christ the King's Luke Fenderson graduated.
The Harvard recruit has 97 goals through 18 games this season and had 104 last year.

The interesting part will be if the @NCHSAA lists her NCISAA wins with her full total (it has been debated before, most notably when Jack Holley coached football at Harrells Christian a few years)
Tuesday night, Myers Park's Barbara Nelson became the second NC girls' basketball coach to win 800 games. Last April, @theobserver named her the top Charlotte girls' coach of the past 40 years.

@RecordsWatchNC I got you. Once the football playoffs started, I haven’t made many updates. We’ll back in the office tomorrow morning and I’ll empty out the Google form.
Thanks!
@RecordsWatchNC Can someone please update the records so the young men & women get their recognition?
Ex:
Sam Harris of Broughton Baseball has single season ERA’s of 0.13 in 2024 (7th all time) and 0.24 in 2023 (11th all time).
I’ve filled out the google form mult. times. 🤝
Schools keeping 'saves' can sometimes not be the most trustworthy thing in the world, but I saw Sykes as a freshman and as a senior... he stayed busy. 1,000+ saves is not a crazy number

🚨 Bessemer City's Tionna Pettus — already having broken @NCHSAA record for most points in game — on pace to shatter season average mark @BessemerHigh @BeeCityFootball https://t.co/QRpMVrPvht
NCHSAA confirmed Saturday's 3-goal comeback by Western Alamance as the first time a team has come back from down 3 goals and won a state title.
Jacksonville also erased a 3-goal deficit against Marvin Ridge, but lost 6-5.
I need to update my lede lol https://t.co/nU5mRNhAxG

Though the method of seeding has improved (we used to do W-L - yikes, can't imagine it now), it's important to note that only a handful of seeds 15 or below have even made it to a @NCHSAA title in any sport
Here's a complete list (w/@SM_Sabres of course)

-Terry Sanford also now 1st in doubles champs (8)
-Terry Sanford the 14th team to sweep ind. titles
