@NHSMillion It very much depends on the location, but as an absolute no - parking is a constrained resource in many locations (often ones with reasonable public transport) so it's about finding a balance. Also _which_ staff and when?
@k_cieslak I agree - partly because my education said single exit, and partly because it actually makes code harder to read (yes, really - I speak from experience, although it wasn't well written to start).
Arrow code is a problem, yes... but...
I find this seriously elegant, if not entirely obvious (especially as formatted)😁
List.fold (fun (p, d) x ->
if Seq.contains x p then (p, x::d) else (x::p, d)) ([], []) list
And yes its a real solution to a real problem... still learning after 45 years (of writing code)
@isaac_abraham@k_cieslak@sforkmann Oh absolutely - it's just that vb.old is very much an archetype.
And if I'm being honest I would tend to treat .NET - and preferably F# - as the solution for almost any problem I want to solve (but I am 45 years of programming and a lot of languages in)
@CFDevelop@GemmaBlackUK In C# mocking httpclient is a mostly solved problem, you just have to find a variation that works for you.
That said I have generally put a wrapper round an API, to hide the http bit 🤔 right now no idea what I'll do next time...
@sinclairinat0r Classic dev blind spot - "this solves a problem I don't have so it serves no purpose" (or variations on that theme)
Listen to @jsnover talk about the origins of PowerShell and you'll hear a similar story...
@gonortheast That's fair enough, it happens. Its just unfortunate that there is also a gap in the X services to Newcastle at that point
I think my challenge is the way services just vanish. Even more so if I'm at a (notionally) staffed stop (typically Consett or Gateshead).
@gonortheast It was the 08:11, from Consett Bus Station. I had sight of the bus station from no later than 08:10, and line of sight along Medomsley road before that. Also couldn't see one (on route having left) on the live tracking.
