@ScottMendelson They’re rehabbed the Hulk as a character to the general audience, the people yearn for a Hulk movie!
Its no coincidence in the movies he’s heavily featured in post his solo film, they make bank!
As a teenager John Woo was revelation.
Then getting into his Hollywood output was underwhelming.
I really enjoy asian cinema and Johnnie To is still slept on.
Older cinephiles, who was a director who was big when you were a teenager, but doesn't get talked about enough on here?
My pick is Gus Van Sant. He was huge when I was in film school in the aughts, but I don't see cinephiles talking about him with the same passion as they used to
When I was in my twenties and new to DC, I was at a cocktail party when someone brought up The Odyssey. Thinking I was being impressive, I recited the opening passage from memory. Another guy nodded in acknowledgement, then recited the same passage in Ancient Greek. I've been one-upped many times, but never so elegantly.
@nextleveltaken Her style needs a really competent dance partner to really make her shit look good.
She’s looked fine with certain ladies but with others the timing is off
@staticbluebat Ghost Rider visually looked great on screen all charred and the skull being darker.
I have soft spot it, my younger brother his childhood favorite hero is Ghost Rider and taking 7 year old him to see it was something.
@Darren_Mooney His run from Fantatic Four/Future Foundation to his Avengers work is such a great read, its why i don’t understand how they plan to adapt Secret Wars, all his work leads up to that.
@fetalgeniuss Something else ill add, it reminds me of how earlier in Channing Tatums career. He also got a lot of flack for being limited in his acting and was compared to Keanu.
But once again the dude just comes across as likable.
@fetalgeniuss Arguably his biggest strength is that he’s just likable, that’s not something you can teach its an intangible he has.
He pops up on screen and we want to root for him
I remember George Clooney saying you get about 10 years on top that’s the run.
Matt Damon is occasionally number 1 on the call sheet but he’s never above being 2 and i honestly think that benefitted him immensely.
