The British government can’t ignore this.
25,000 have signed the letter we just handed into Home Office minster Shabana Mahmood with @icjpalestine demanding that she investigate Brits who have served in the Israeli army amid the Gaza genocide.
Thank you if you signed the letter or shared the campaign. We now need to pressure the government to respond to us so please write to your MPs about the campaign.
No one wants to live next to a war criminal.
@Sheryl_EH@acathleen5@GuntherEagleman@NATO Yes they are paying their allocated share of the NATO budget. You are probably referring to %GDP spending on defence, however every country's now set to meet or exceed the minimum 2% commitment and there's agreement to increase this to 3.5% by 2035.https://t.co/TwuG1N1LWs
@Sheryl_EH@acathleen5@GuntherEagleman@NATO US contributes 16% (yes SIXTEEN) of the NATO budget same as Germany. The graphic you quote represents the whole defence budget and so whilst US wishes to remain a superpower it dwarfs that of all other countries.
@istab0n@GrindeOptions@Acquired_Savant When he failed to invade UK and then broke his pact with Stalin. Both USA and USSR came late to a war that began 1939.
@ah_lorelei@Osint613 The US contributes 14.9% of the NATO budget, the same as Germany. Yes, the overall spend on defence by the US dwarfs that of other countries but that's the cost it pays for being a world super power. Those bases you pay for outside the US are to project US power.
@gecantab@ElectionMapsUK You can't really call it a PR election when 57% of the elected members are FPtP constituency MSPs and the remainder by the d’Hondt system via the list vote.
@KyleeMumof4@acailler@OctopusEnergy You can change your DD with them to variable instead of fixed and pay for the exact amount of energy used at end of month. Means though high bills in winter and low in summer rather than averaged over year.
@ScotRail@T1_Lesley What's a bit annoying for those of us in Strathclyde is that pre-removal of peak fares the 20% Club50 discount applied after 9am rather than 9.15am for journeys wholly within the SPT area.
@philmurray_@GitGrumpygit@JohnSwinney Their place was not taken by a non-domiciled student. They were solely competing for a SHEFC place with the other Scottish students which is capped as there is not limitless funding. What point are you trying to argue here?
