Today, the State of #Eritrea and the Republic of The #Gambia formally established diplomatic relations.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Sophia Tesfamariam @AmbStesfamariam , Permanent Representative of #Eritrea to the United Nations, and H.E. Mr. Lamin B. Dibba, Permanent Representative of The #Gambia to the United Nations.
This milestone lays the foundation for stronger bilateral ties, deeper dialogue, and expanded cooperation in political affairs, trade, economic development, culture, and other areas of mutual interest, grounded in mutual respect for sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

Dear Ahmed Soliman @AhmedSolHoA
If you convened this roundtable on the “escalation between #Ethiopia and #Eritrea” with three #Ethiopians who support the #Ethiopian government’s expansionist policy and its ambition to seize #Eritrea’s coastline by force, but did so innocently and without realising the imbalance, I am prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt.
I would also urge you to correct this by inviting #Eritreans whose views is to uphold international law, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Eritrea and Ethiopia.
Otherwise, Chatham House is failing in its responsibility to provide a platform where different perspectives and views can be heard and debated fairly.
The “Potemkin Party” lectures Eritrea on development while Ethiopia has reportedly received $30–40 BILLION in foreign aid over 8 years, yet still needs IMF bailouts and humanitarian relief. Instead of threatening Eritrea’s sovereignty, fix Ethiopia’s crises! 🇪🇷
Ethiopia never owned a legal title to Eritrean ports outside of illegal annexation and forceful occupation. Annexation does not confer legal right under International Law 101. Stop packaging aggression as "historical rights." 🇪🇷 #Eritrea#HornOfAfrica#EritreaPrevails
The people of 🇪🇷Eritrea have a long-standing tradition of uniting 2 defend their country against any threat 2 its sovereignty. They recall the sacrifices made by martyrs & the pain of their loving mothers over 30 yrs 2 achieve the noble cause of independence.
May God bless 🇪🇷🙏.
“Solidarity with Palestine cannot rest.”
Spanish football coach Pep Guardiola has lent his voice to a new video appeal campaign from UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestine refugees, condemning Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its demolition of the territory, and calling on the world to speak out louder in solidarity.
“Silence today is a form of taking sides,” the former Manchester City and Barcelona coach says in the video. “But we cannot afford to look away.”
Guardiola cites more than 74,000 Palestinians murdered in Gaza since the start of Israel’s current escalation in October 2023, the devastation of Palestinian homes, and the continued obstruction of humanitarian aid from reaching survivors.
🇪🇷 For every Eritrean, defending our sovereignty is unwavering. Sport is part of that resistance too.
Our athletes race with that spirit and that’s why we always rise. Victory to the Eritrea national team at the 2026 Africa Cycling Championship! 🇪🇷 #Eritrea
We will not allow any landlocked state to gain access to the #RedSea—though facilities in Eritrea or #Somalia could be leased under terms mutually agreed upon by us and those nations—nor will we permit any illicit activities. We will strike any target, whether at sea or in the air; we will not tolerate aggression against #Eritrea, Somalia, or #Djibouti, nor will we allow the partition of any of these countries. #Ethiopia is pursuing colonial ambitions, yet the era of colonialism has passed, and these are sovereign states.
We will trample #Israel's covert plan underfoot.
🗺 The Blueprint Revealed: Netanyahu’s Map & The Engineering of Horn Instability 🇪🇷 🇪🇬🇸🇩 🇮🇱 🇦🇪 🇪🇹
Benjamin Netanyahu's presentation of a Middle East alliances map during his national security address explicitly visualizes the geopolitical proxy architecture operating behind regional conflicts. The graphic—categorizing regional alignments—confirms that instability across the Red Sea basin and the Horn of Africa is structural rather than accidental.
🔍 Key Mappings & Strategic Takeaways
🔵 The "Hexagon" Proxy Camp: The map categorizes Ethiopia, Somaliland, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan within the Israel–UAE axis.
🇸🇩 Manufactured Destabilization in Sudan: The explicit grouping of the RSF alongside external patrons explains the sustained cross-border logistics and weapons flows deployed to fracture the Sudanese state.
🇪🇹 Addis Ababa as Regional Catspaw: Facing internal collapse across Amhara, Tigray, and Oromia, the regime in Addis Ababa acts as a proxy instrument, attempting to export conflict toward Sudan and Eritrea while pushing unviable Red Sea access claims.
🟢 The Sovereign Counterweight: The classification of Eritrea, Sudan, and Egypt alongside the broader regional status quo reflects Asmara's steadfast defense of sovereign territorial integrity, non-interference, and littoral-exclusive Red Sea governance.
"The proxy map has been publicly displayed; the forces fragmenting the Horn of Africa are no longer hidden behind diplomatic rhetoric."

Eritrean farmer Rozina Mebrahtom has been named one of FAO’s 100 Women Heroes 2026—selected from over 600 women across 131 countries—for turning rugged, barren, saline land into fertile, productive farmland through a decade of relentless effort after her husband’s death. With her children’s help, she hauled soil, sand, and manure to build an integrated organic farm that boosts food security, conserves resources, and improves livelihoods in southern Eritrea. A powerful example of resilience and sustainable agriculture.

Egypt has refused military access to the Red Sea for non-coastal countries, including landlocked Ethiopia, while still allowing commercial access through deals with coastal states.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty also pointed to cooperation with Saudi Arabia aimed at strengthening maritime security in the region.
So proud for the few Days spent with the #Eritrean Navy in Gedem in the outskirts of Massawa! Back in 2018. It was exhilarating experience all together. ዘኹርዕ ቁሩብ መዓልታት ኣብ ገደም ምስ ሓይሊ ባሕሪ ኤርትራ።
Back in 2021, when the TPLF faced the same issue of Ethiopian Airlines allegedly ferrying troops, this was your position. Now that you serve a different master, you have conveniently changed your tune and are accusing the TPLF of demanding exactly what you once defended. The hypocrisy is hard to miss. ሆድ አደር! 😆
Yesterday, Ethiopia virtually handed over cities in Somalia’s South West State to Al-Shabaab on a silver platter. Today, Ethiopia stands of aggression against its neighbors Sudan, Eritrea, and Somalia and of financing terrorism.
Yet European and American taxpayers continue to bankroll the Ethiopian government.
