@irlchrism @LornaBogue absolutely but again when the previous management blocked off the spaces on the first floor at the top of the ramp forcing people to drive further in it fixed that too.

that centre is the shining example of bad planning.

@irlchrism @LornaBogue Douglas west should be one way with a contra flow bus lane, its a no brainer tbh, at least halve the time the buses stuck in traffic and with the one way village, less traffic should in theory back up along with less commuters rat running through Douglas (more awkward for them)

@irlchrism @LornaBogue obvs residents would maintain vehicle access but like we see by the marina it won't be as frequent as it currently is for vehicles, it's safer! we don't need cars on that street, they can use link/church road. less junction interchanges less delays too. win win

@irlchrism @LornaBogue keep Church street for buses, and use church road/link road for cars, make west village one way with contra buses/cycle ways. so like an outer loop for two way/cars, inner quietway for buses/bikes/pedestrians, bring a village feel back to the center.

@CllrFionaRyan not an ounce of grit in the suburbs either, Douglas village was lethal this morning especially footpaths by the traffic lights on N40 sliproad by Tesco. School's staff had to grit nearby estate's footpaths and busy walkways, so many people and a lot of kids having bad falls today

the road they are on is an old village road with multiple businesses & people in the area, the van was speeding to get to a congested junction where they'd have to wait..

As a mum walking her 7yr old to school we’ve had cars/vans drive at us on the footpaths more days than not, Douglas is overrun with driver entitlement/rage.
