Men pay because we could eat alone, anywhere we want - and sometimes we want female company and to get a woman to come along, you offer to buy her dinner. If it turns into something more - great! But, expecting to get laid because you bought someone dinner is dumb... If you don't like buying dinner for company, then why you taking her somewhere fancy? Go buy some groceries and make a picnic - just not that hard.... It goes both ways, if a women wants me to join her for dinner she can pay for it (I'll likely offer anyway) - always fall back on the rule of the person asking for the date pays - simple. Like whoever asked someone out by saying, "Can we buy each other dinner?" Or "Want to share the tab on a meal?"
