And so we begin a new chapter. Noteworthy becomes @TJ_Investigates

Swedish hunters kill more than 150 brown bears in first days of annual cull
“Campaigners denounce ‘pure slaughter’, which could threaten survival of entire Scandinavian population”
Why does humankind persist in this war on nature? #Tragic
Shame on #Sweden

Pigs -- and ALL farm animals -- are just as deserving of our compassion and consideration as dogs and cats. So why does the #meat industry get away with treating *these* animals like they don't matter? 🤨 #GoVegan
“Exclusive: Angry workers yell expletives at frightened animals, bash them with poles, kick and hit them with chains, secret filming shows”
Yet more abuse of sentient farm animals, #heartbreaking 💔
All thanks @JournoJane for making this public

A bit late to the party, but just finished the audiobook version of @GeorgeMonbiot and Hutchinson's book "The invisible doctrine", and it is great!
A 🧵 of what stuck with me and some thoughts...
The Shorthorn Express left last night for Casablanca, with over 2,000 young bulls on board. It's a short sea journey of 5 days but records show many bulls still suffer from respiratory illness and leg injuries and several have died during previous shipments of pneumonia, broken leg and unknown causes. Plus Morocco has appalling animal welfare standards, particularly at slaughter. I doubt @DoyleShipping understands exactly what they are involved in, and profiting from.

On this fine sunny day whilst tourists are enjoying the scenery at Greenore port thousands of young bulls are loading onto a ship bound for North Africa. Another sweltering sea journey in a hideous vessel just to face a brutal slaughter, thanks to @DoyleShipping who is profiting from cruelty

The power and authenticity of this brought tears to my eyes.

This person spraying has been supplied with all the proper PPE - suit, P3 filter - hopefully to spray the public road & keep him safe.
Look at the pedestrians - where's their protection?
Ask yourself - why is this necessary? An obsession with clean?
Serendipitous ahead of today’s @lstwrd on Environment item on #greenwashing with @cooper_m to spot this @circlekireland oil tanker on M8 just now.
It “runs on hydrotreated vegetable oil”.
Ssssssh, just don’t ask about the thousands of litres of *fossil fuels* it’s hauling.
All animals deserve a life worth living, where they can carry out all natural behaviours including caring for their young. A new movement of dairy farming, where calves stay with mum, is growing across Europe and in other parts of the world. There is a better way of doing things.
Momentum is slowing on this so appreciate any shares/reposts
It's purpose is simple - address overuse of herbicides in Ireland within a 2 year period.
This is the BARE MINIMUM we can ask in a biodiversity crisis.

Devon farm blasted after piglets thumped against walls & bin full of dead piglets found
“The footage is distressing, not because it is an example of extreme horrors that are possible but because it’s not rare”
The way we treat fellow species shames us all
