I had the most wonderful taxi ride home from downtown recently. This cabbie had "The Knowledge" He knew all the one ways, closed lanes for the construction and laneways to take for even half a block. We had all the windows down and just realaxed & enjoyed the "rush hour"
"It is painful to drive downtown," says Councillor Lily Cheng. "And it shouldn't be painful. It should be something pleasant. Does it have to be at full speed? Maybe not .. but we have to acknowledge there are people in our city who do not have the luxury of taking transit."
New COVID-19 vaccines are now available in many pharmacies, for everyone age 65+ or ppl with underlying health conditions.
You’d be forgiven for not knowing, because there’s been zero publicity by feds or provinces

@TheAgenda @spaikin @McKelvieTO @gilesgherson@TorontoRBOT@civmin@LanrickBennett@UofTCities@bweaver08 Try it this way: if everyone on TTC travelled (on average) half as many subway stops to get to work, how congested would the TTC be?
If all the commuters on the 401 travelled half as many exits to get to THEIR work, how congested would the 401 be? Etc. Etc.
@TheAgenda @spaikin @McKelvieTO @gilesgherson@TorontoRBOT@civmin@LanrickBennett@UofTCities@bweaver08 The solution to traffic congestion is neither tunnels nor transit.
Hear me out.
We need to make denser habitations (the opposite of sprawl) so we can decrease drastically, the distances travelled for work and for everyday life.
Even with changes in zoning … the biggest obstacle to these projects expanding across cities is a lack of real estate developers
Small projects are just as complicated to do as large projects
We need more small, local developers. And more local, skilled labor.
@BuckWoodyMSFT OMG.
I had an uncle that when we were at his place at the lake, every time a fast boat went by, he'd say "That's drug money, you know". It was around the same time as the show, but I never put 2 and 2 together. LOL.

It's in Kingston Ontario. Last of the Edwardian passenger steamships. Absolutely fabulous and you don't have to get into a sub to see it. Recommend.
@m2bowman Gee. Building highways hasn't solved the problem, so you're gonna build more.
Good.
I'll be over here banging my head against this wall until it stops hurting.
