Took an actual sick day today (after prepping the work for the 5 classes I'm missing).

Clearly the kids are bringing SuperBugs into school this year as apart from having the usual cold symptoms I'm now nauseous after eating..... 😭

Last day of the Easter break & I wake up to my period. Great.

Not just the "gentle reminder you're a woman" type. Oh no, it's the "Are you sure you don't want to perform surgery on yourself because your body is ripping itself apart?" kind.

This week's #BestLesson was with same class as last week - test review, mini whiteboard revision of previous content, some nice convection demos with liquids & gases and recording these demos. Good student engagement.

I had a positive, engaging lesson with my yr 10, who normally don't speak. We had a card sort, some fun with mini whiteboards & #Physics demo on heat conduction. We laughed lots & had good craic. It left me feeling pretty good & reminded me how much I actually enjoy #teaching

I firmly believe that as #teachers we spend far too much time worrying about how well we're doing, epic amounts of marking & admin and inspections. Time to focus on the good stuff we're doing.
