🚨 FLORIDA, WE HAVE A RESIDENCY PROBLEM 🚨
James Fishback wants to run for Governor of Florida “this year” while a 2026 D.C. property tax bill shows him receiving a HOMESTEAD deduction.
Homestead means principal residence.
Florida’s Constitution requires a Governor to be a Florida resident for the preceding 7 years.
So which is it, James?
Were you a D.C. homesteader for tax benefits, or a Florida resident eligible to govern this state?
You do not get to claim D.C. as home for a tax break, then claim Florida as home for political power.
Disqualify him.
Marcus is one of the good guys working to make our government work for the people.
He is one of a very few that qualified to run for Congress (FL-9) by petitions.

I released an article yesterday morning that has generated a very spirited conversation, and along with it, some strong opposition. I respect and invite debate from all perspectives and encourage that conversation to continue. A few people took issue with the title of the article alone, although I’m confident that those who know me know beyond a shadow of a doubt where my heart is at, and that I do, in fact, care about those I have taken a stand to serve. I apologize to those who misinterpreted a purely figurative title as a literal statement, it was not.
The title was a statement regarding the many voices I’ve heard in support of this war unequivocally, without displaying that they have considered the long-term, widespread ramifications it may cause. I did not condemn these attacks; I haven’t even criticized the President for them. The considerations I am making don’t have anything to do with either. They have to do with whether or not the actions we took were both absolutely necessary to do right now as well worth the investment it is likely to take.
A regime change in Iran will happen, that much is clear. How it happens is very much up to forces outside of our control, something it seems too many of us are overlooking. And if the lessons of Iraq, Afghanistan or Ukraine have taught us anything, it's that our projected timeline carries little weight. I have yet to understand a clear objective. I still don’t see a metric to define success, and I struggle to believe we can decapitate the entire leadership structure of a nation, especially a nation like Iran, and walk away in 4 weeks without leaving a terribly dangerous power vacuum in our wake.
And I hope that my concerns are overly cautious, I pray my concerns prove to be hyperbole; I really do. Because I’ve seen war, I know what this all looks like on the other end. I know how many variables exist outside of our control. I’m not afraid to be wrong. I’m afraid to not ask the right questions first.
But the strikes have started, and once the bullets fly it doesn’t matter much why anymore. What matters now is that we finish what we started in the most effective, efficient, safest way we can. That is something I will definitely be supportive of. I will continue to pray for our President to be filled with wisdom, and I will pray God strengthen the hearts and minds of our troops.
Today I witnessed a first from Democrat @RepDarrenSoto. He didn't immediately condemn Trump. In fact, his comments are downright as supportive as someone with TDS can make. It doesn't take long to understand why. Soto has raked in more than $800,000 from @AIPAC. You do the math.
