BJP Workers Must Reveal Who Supplied Form-7: DK Shivakumar

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (#BJP) after a party delegation approached #ElectionCommission and #Karnataka #Governor over alleged electoral irregularities, accusing the BJP of attempting to shield its workers involved in the controversy.

Describing the issue as “a big criminal conspiracy in the history of India”, #DKShivakumar said BJP workers who allegedly distributed #Form7 must reveal who instructed them and supplied the documents.“Ultimately they have gone to the Election Commission. Now they are trying to protect their workers. The workers will have to tell who gave them. Some of them have admitted it, while some have approached the court. Let the workers disclose who gave the forms. That also has to be investigated,” he told reporters.

D. K. Shivakumar said the alleged irregularities came to light after senior Congress leaders, including #RahulGandhi and Congress president #MallikarjunKharge, raised concerns during their visits to Karnataka.“When Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge came here, we found out irregularities in Mahadevapura and several other places, including Aland,” he said.

The Chief Minister also cited alleged instances from constituencies represented by senior party leaders, including Minister Eshwar Khandre’s assembly segment and M.B. Patil’s Bableshwar constituency.“In Bableshwar, BJP leaders themselves have admitted that they distributed the forms, acknowledged it was wrong and requested that no action be taken. What do BJP leaders have to say about that?” Shivakumar questioned.

Claiming that similar admissions had emerged from Belagavi, Ballari and Mysuru districts, he said the #Congress was collecting documentary evidence related to the matter.“In so many places they have admitted it. We are gathering all the documents,” he added.
